my vote goes to the smart doc

Dr. Standig takes the time to listen, is direct and looks you in the eyes when talking. She is kind and caring.

Above all she is an amazing dr. She quickly figures out what the heck is going on and if it is a difficult problem to solve she keeps digging until she gets the answer. I have some unusual health concerns and more than once she has put my health back on track.

I noticed one person gave a one star. I was surprised when I read that particular review. Perhaps the Dr. had an off day or was tending to an emergency. You're not going there for the paperwork, you're going for your health. My vote goes to the smart doc.

HORRIBLY unreliable and unprofessional doctor

I fell upon Dr. Standig as my primary doctor, didn't do much research on her which now I regret--mistake #1

I went to her for a simple test that I need to get done for school. I was a little concerned when I entered her office to find it a complete disaster and saw the doctor who was bickering with her receptionist right in front of me. But I told myself it was ok b/c I was just going for a simple test, how can she screw that up? Mistake #2

I proceeded to sit in her office as she came in and out responding to her receptionist calling for her. Then she asks me why I am there, which of course was written on my paperwork in her hand. Then she told me that she has 2 stethescopes but she left both at home and asked if I wanted to wait so she could go get it...um, NO! But how can someone forget such a rudimentary tool as a stethescope? That should have made me leave, but no I admit I was an idiot. Mistake #3.

So she pricks me as per the test and tells me to email her a picture in 2 days and she will send me back the signed paperwork. I do as I am told. No answer.

I call, it goes straight to voicemail so I leave a message. No answer. So I email again. I get an email back from her receptionist several days later asking for my fax # so I write back with it. No response.

Over the next almost 20 days I call w/o anyone ever picking up, leave messages a few of those times, and sent about 6 emails with higher urgency on each one. No response.

As a last resort, I stop by her office during office hours. No one is there, the door is locked, and no note on the door. Still, no one is answering their phones either.

Finally, having a deadline I must meet for school, I go to a clinic to get the test re-done which of course costs me more money.

What a waste of my time and money! No idea how someone that unprofessional can even get a medical degree...Let alone allowed to be affiliated with a reputable hospital like St Lukes!

My doctor really cares!!

Dr. Standig has always been a knowledgeable and compassionate, which is injected with a little humor.
She is my family's doctor for about 7 years. Her ability to explain complicated medical problems is outstanding. She worked wth me to determine the best approach. I have not found this with my other doctors.
