THE WORST EXPERIENCE!

I have never been treated so poorly in any store - ever. My toddler recently received one of their shirts as a gift but it did not fit so I needed to exchange it. Especially, since it came with a gift receipt for this purpose. I arrived with my kid to find the sole worker - a woman with long brown hair dressed as a wannabe hipster- on the phone very involved in a personal conversation. The store is tiny, so I know she saw me 2 feet away standing in front of the register. For the next 10 minutes, I was completely ignored while she gingerly made plans for dinner (tacos), who was spending the night (someone was too scared to sleep alone, so they would be sharing a bed), and too many other dumb conversation pieces to type up. In the end she hung up, but only because the other line was ringing! During her second phone call she informed the caller that ""I had to close the store in Marin, but this store is still open..."", finally she hung up and turned to the new customers who had just walked in and were standing behind me!

At this point I felt like saying something to get her attention, but I waited some more trying to keep my toddler entertained. Finally, after 15minutes in this inferno, I wave at her, so she excuses herself with the others, comes over to the register takes the bag I had put on the counter when I walked in, and said: ""Are you returning this?"" Me: yes, it was a gift, but does not fit. Her: ""Where is the receipt?"" I gave her the gift receipt. She looks at the shirt and says, ""It does not have the price tag. Do you know why it doesn't have the price tag?"" I calmly repeated that it was a gift, ergo no price tag. She replies, ""Normally, we do not accept items without the price tag on them."" I tell her that is what a gift receipt is for, and BTW, it did have the manufacturer's tag on it and was 100% unworn. Her response is to type aggressively into her register/computer for a few more minutes. After a long period of this, I ask her if she is able to find the purchase transaction, and she again ignores me and says nothing. Finally, she speaks to inform me that she can only give me $17 in credit. I say fine, take the dumb bath toys my daughter had been touching and put them on the counter. Originally, I had planned on getting some pants and a jacket my daughter needed, but given the experience in purgatory I did not look for anything else and just wanted to run out of there. She again types aggressively and says I owe her the difference. I pay her, leave and then realize she has only credited me $16, and charged me more.

Maybe such bad customer service is what really caused their Marin store to close. Also, if that lady was the owner, as she portrayed herself to the person on the phone, she needs a new calling. Too bad for them because I am a fool for cute kid's clothes no matter what the price, but it seems that this shop does not need anyone's business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Fun, unique baby and kids clothes

This is the place to go if you have a baby shower to attend and you want to be the one with the best gift! Designer clothes for tykes, Ed Hardy, Splendid, Sevens (I think) Really cute. The only down side is the prices are comparable to the adult versions!

Fashionable and Fantastical for kids!

Honeys & Heroes is my go-to boutique for ""spoil my niece and nephew outfits"" as well as great designer basics for friends' kids. The owner has expanded the non-clothing gift items too, which make for great add-ons, like blankets, hats, bags, shoes etc...The larger sizes (tweens, up to 14 I think) give persnickety kids a great range of designers to choose from that will ensure they stand out from their peers. If you haven't been to Honeys & Heroes in SF, Marin or Palo Alto, be sure to stop in and check it out for yourself!

I'm skulled out...

Decided to visit Honeys and Heroes. Was very unimpressed by the selection, very edgy, skulls and peace signs everywhere. Wouldn't recommend.

Different Name - Even More Cool Stuff. Definately Check Out Honeys and Heroes

I just made it back to the store that had been Pumpkin for the first time in a few months. At first I was worried that this was a new store altogether, but I was pleased to discover, same great owner, and even more cool stuff! So, Pumpkin is now Honeys & Heroes. The only things that have changed is the name and the fact that they?ve added a store in Mill Valley for tweens.

I definitely recommend still shopping at the SF store. I found some great fall things for my five-year old, and my friend, who has baby, found some great clothes, too!

I have not been to the new store yet, but plan to check it out the next time I?m in Marin.

Happy shopping!

The hippest clothes for your favorite babe

Dear Rene and Super Dad-
As owner of 'Pumpkin, Hip Clothes for Cool Babes', I was genuinely concerned when I read about your negative shopping experience. At Pumpkin we strive to provide the highest quality of customer service and aim to be as helpful, focused and personable as possible. As a sales team we are broken hearted that you have had such a negative experience and we hope that you will give us another opportunity to show our outstanding service (or prove our dedication to outstanding service). We look forward to your next visit and please ask for me directly, Alanna, so that I may apologize to your in person. Thank you for your honest feedback and we will continue to work to exceed customer expectations in the future.
Sincerely, Alanna

Great Kids Clothes

Finally -- after living in NY and France, I found a great kids store right here in San Francisco!
Fabulous designs like no other store, with fun salespeople. My daughter doesn't like to try on clothes, but at Pumpkin, the salespeople made sure it was a fun experience. They conversed with her, gave her toys to play with, and offered her a little candy. She had a ball, as did I. We walked out with some gorgeous uniques pieces as well as a couple of very reasonably priced t-shirts. We'll be back!!!!

Best Children's Store in Northern California

I heard about Pumpkin through a mother whose kids go to school with mine.
I finally found the time to stop by their store. It not only carried the great name brands
I often love to buy on my shopping spree's in LA, but even more great brands I hadn't heard of. The boys section is GREAT!!! I haven't seen such cool boy's clothes, EVER.
On top of that the customer service was incredible. They helped me put together so many great outfits.
I will definetly be doing my Christmas shopping there soon!

Great Customer Service and Fun Unique Clothing

Pumpkin has become our staple store. Not only is the mix of clothing terrific but the customer service is probably the best in town. The sales associates are helpful to my needs but also go way beyond to entertain my kids. My children HATE shopping but actually request to go to Pumpkin. We have never had anything but A+ service. Pumpkin is the best children's store to open in SF due to the excellent eye that the owner has and the superior sales associates that work there.

great baby gifts

Love this store - cool clothes, great for gifts. I call in my baby gift orders and they are super helpful at guiding me and helping select the perfect gift package in whatever price range I specify, without even going into the store! They can ship them for me too! Easy, with great customer service!

For the Marina-chick-to-be or future revolutionary?

The stuff in this shop is truly very cool- Pumkinistas, I figure, will grow up to be either hip, ironic intellectuals or cocktail-swilling party grrls.

Wouldn't come back...

I decided to get a leg up and start my holiday shopping early. Instead of toys, I decided to check out Pumpkin, I read the user reviews and thought, trendy funky this is a store for me. Walking into pumpkin I observed a girl talking on the phone, as I browsed Pumpkin's selection, I noticed some clothing manufactured mostly in the US but charing European prices. There is a lot of cool stuff but I felt they were extremely over priced. 10 minutes into my stay the girl says hello and asks if I need any help to let her know. 15 Minutes later, I leave disatisfied with the customer service and the outrageous price tags. Maybe the price tags would not be a huge issue for me, if I felt that I recieved the appropriate customer service. Wouldn't come back and don't recommend...

Hip, Cool, Hard-To Find Kids and Baby Clothes

The variety and style of this store is like nothing else I've seen in San Francisco. It's a fun, upscale atmosphere with something for babies and kids with all sorts of different styles. Great for baby or kids gifts....they wrap the gifts and will ship, too. Make sure to check out the revolving array of funky kids t-shirts. Very stylish and the folks at Pumpkin offer suggestions for all occasions.
