General Info
gimme shoes Shoes may be for the feet, but they're nothing without an eye. Since we opened the first Gimme Shoes in 1984, ours have turned to women's and men's shoes that you never tire of seeing and wearing. They are shoes that manage to be cool and classic, funky and chic, and as easy on the feet as on the eyes. We travel the globe, scouring major design capitals to bring you a meticulously edited seasonal collection of shoes, handbags, and accessories, by a range of international designers. You won't find our selection anywhere else. We heart trailblazers, and have been among the first in the U.S. to import designs by Dries Van Noten, Dirk Bikkembergs, Veronique Branquino, Ann Demeulemeester, Chie Mihara, YMC, Fiorentini + Baker, Repetto, Vialis, among them. We've long been scouting the adventurous design playing field of athletic shoes. We offer rare kicks from the Big 3-Adidas, Nike and Puma-as well as prime styles from smaller off-beat brands including, Tretorn, YMC, PR-1, and Generic Man, and from designers such as Paul Smith and John Varvatos for Converse. We emphasize wares that are well-priced, well-constructed, practical, eco-conscious, and responsibly produced. Our staff is like family-yours and ours-and they know just what you're after.

I needed a pair of shoes for a sports event and glad that I found this store. Lots of items that are really good but fit the budget.

I wanted to try on a pair of shoes here recently but the salesperson was too engaged in conversation with either another employee or a friend. Neither I nor the other 2 customers browsing were greeted or offered help. Will go to Haight or Fillmore next time to shop for shoes.

No problem with me

This is the first time I shopped at Gimme Shoes on Hayes St. The lady (short brown hair) that assited me was VERY helpful. I must have tried on 7 different pairs in two sizes. I am very pleased w my visit and will come back again. (I walked out w 3 pairs - all on sale for 60% off!)

What Service???

The attitude... the salespeople just make shopping there unpleasant. Instead of feeling good after walking out with your new shoes you feel blah cause you just sacrificed your morals for a pair of shoes.

Rude, rude, rude

While Gimme Shoes has great designer shoes, the help is sooooo rude I would rather pay twice as much for the same shoe as opposed to dealing with these people. Especially when the help at a competitor - Smash - is so friendly.

all attitude

I've shopped at gimme shoes for the last 6 years and everytime i buy next door at bulo. Why? attitude. No matter how dressed up or down I am or who I come in with the boys who run this shop don't give service. The selection of shoes is fantastic but the service stinks. The employees need to work on commission or maybe need profit sharing - something to motivate them! :)
