I have worked with this company repeatedly over the past few years, and have never had anything but the best interactions with their service representatives.
I admit that it can be frustrating to sit on the phone for 10 to 15 minutes providing answers to their questions...only to have them tell you that you ""are not a fit"" but the reality is that - as with every other marketing research company - they have customers that they have to please. If they provide a survey response from a participant who does not actually qualify, I imagine that they don't get paid...
And while I concur that I would have been frustrated to have been sent home with $25, that money still would have been more than I went there with...
So, the snacks, the coffee, and the greeters always add up to an A+ experience for me...
What can I say? I'm a fan!!

I just moved to SF and a friend had told me about doing paid focus groups with Fieldwork. So, I signed up on their website and was called a couple of weeks later. I answered a few questions to see if would qualify (I did) and they sent me an email with all the information about the study. When I arrived there, I was greeted by two friendly ladies and checked in with another nice young lady. They even had sandwiches, snacks and coffee! The group lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes. It was fun to talk with the rest of the group about our opinions. After the group was done, I signed out and got my money (cash!!!) I would recommend this company to anyone! Great service with a smile!

Ofcourse all of us want to get paid for our opinions! That's why we sign up for paid focus groups. But if you ever get a call from these guys, HANG UP! They will ask you a dozen questions for ""qualification on a study"" and give you the great news! You've been picked. But when the time comes for you to get paid. NOTHING! Why? Because they got all the information they wanted out of you during the interview or when you go they tell you they are full. Don't waste your time!
And they do this very well. They promise you good money but you never speak with the same person twice. One will call you to ask you questions, another will be even nicer to confirm you, then another will tell you that you're confused about what you heard and you will be paid nothing because "" insert here.... ""
Use every other research company but these girls!

This place is bogus and they will scam you for your time.
I went all the way to SF from the east bay for a focus group. I was promised $175.00 plus a chance to win $50 for showing up early. They told me they didn't need me even though I answered everything honestly and I could go home early with $25.00 for my trouble. I told them I would of stayed home if all I was going to get was $25.00 for giving them my saturday.
So I refused the $25.00 and told them I should get paid in full for what they promised since I fullfilled my end of the deal. I plan on filing a small claims suit for wasting my time and money.
There are many good honest companies out there. I personally like greenburg and fleshman field research. If they don't use you, you still get paid in full.
