My girlfriend and I discovered Kasa last month when we were looking for a place to have dinner near Dolores Park after a day in the sunshine. What a discovery -- the food is superb in flavor, fresh, and each of their small list of entrees stands alone with its own unique flavor. We've been back a couple times and have also gotten delivery, and our favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala (smoky, chargrilled chicken in a spicy/tangy/creamy sauce), the incredible Lamb Curry, Paneer (Indian cheese with peppers and onions) and basically anything off the daily specials board. Highly recommended -- it's the kind of indian you can eat often and not feel sick afterwards.
I have had many great times here. Had the chance to introduce a good friend of mine to Indian food here, and many years ago, I happened to be on an errand with my two boys and I tricked them into ‘trying’ Indian food, and to my amazement, they have been hooked ever since. As a matter of fact, they eat Indian food more often than I do! Every time I am in the City, I visit Tandoori Mahal. Clean place, polite people, and the food is awesome. Right off of Broadway on Kearny. Easy to find.
Love the concept, love the food. Kasa is a great addition to the neighborhood and a welcome alternative to burritos and sandwiches. The food is delicious, convenient, and reasonably priced. Super high quality ingredients. The service has always been very friendly and helpful. The decor is clean, airy, modern, but not contrived. It's great for lunch or a simple dinner, especially before or after a cocktail or beer in the neighborhood. Delivery has always been fast and courteous.
Great addition to the Castro / Noe Valley area. I was looking for the best Indian restaurant in the Mission and I found this one just down the street. Basically, they are taking Indian street food, using fresh (sometimes organic, free-range chickens, etc) ingredients, and selling it at 'fast-food' prices. The Lamb curry is unbelievable, but the Chicken Tikka Masala is also worth a visit. Definitely will be back, highly recommend this place.
I give this place a rating of 3 stars for the following reasons: The place is tiny, congested and packed (but not sure why since Shalimar, Pakwan and Chutney in the same block are actually better in my opinion. I tried a few things here. The Karahi Chicken was great, while the Tandoor Fish was average and the Lamb Seek Kabab was not so good. Again, not worth the wait. Oh and they don't take American Express.
My friend and I walked to the 3 Indian restaurants closest to Union Square. The first two had very fancy decor, and the prices on their menus were way out of our budget. When we came to Little Delhi, we liked the simple interior and the good prices. Even better was the food. I ordered chana saag, and it was delicious. It had just the right amount of curry spice, and the texture was perfect.
you are absolutely right many celebs have visited new delhi including anthony hopkins, art agnos, yan can cook, and many more. its is by far the best indian dining experience i've ever had. esspecially the service and the owner ranjan dey is an amazing man. if you want a wonderful dining experience in indian food please visit new delhi restaurant (they also cater)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Indian food. We had a favorite Indian restaurant in Atlanta and were dying to find something in San Francisco. We finally found the place. Its a high end fancy restaurant but the food is very good. The weekend lunch buffet has 6 meat dishes - which is more than most restaurants. The cost is reasonable too. We love going for dinner and ordering from the menu also.
Kennedy's pub and curry house has the best beer selection and mouth-watering Indian cuisine, not to mention an original South Indian menu, with dining until 1 am. It's hard to say what is drawing celebrities and musicians to Kennedy's: the foosball, internet jukebox, venue across the street, or location. Places like this don't really exist, except in dreams.
If you've been here before and never had the Indian bread then you have to bring yourself back here to try it. If you've never been here before then I beg you to get the Indian bread. Get two plates or three plates! It is something that is so simple but one of my favorite appetizer ever! Enjoyed the experience. Great Food
