WOW! My new fiance and I (we had got engaged that day) went here to celebrate on the evening of our engagement. We each had a 5 course meal, in total 10 different dishes. The service was absolutely amazing and the food was even better. We both left feeling full, but not too full, but completely satisfied. We had: ahi tuna appetizer, roast maine lobster, herb crusted lamb, filet of beef, seared sea bass, cheese plate, pumpkin soup, pear tart tartini, bananas flambe, and chocolate souffle. We also got 2 glasses of champagne. Since we were also celebrating his birthday, they gave us a little lemon mousse cake with a candle and sent us home with a pumpkin bread wrapped up to-go. Absolutely a must do if you're in SF. Worth all the money we paid. Only complaint is that you sit fairly close to other tables, so you don't really have much privacy.
This is another must-visit San Francisco establishment that I have been frequenting ever since it opened in the 90s. I noticed that some folks have used the phrase, "tourist trap." While I agree that tourists do frequent this spot, I must point out that this is certainly no "trap." And as someone who loves and is proud of San Francisco, I actually INVITE tourists to visit Beach Chalet, so that I can share with them one of my favorite spots in the City.Beach Chalet is also a microbrewery restaurant that offers top notch craft beers. Beach Chalet upstairs; Park Chalet downstairs - can't go wrong with either - both offer excellent libations, and also live entertainment on most nights.Oh, and if you have never been, set aside 5-10 minutes to browse the murals and museum-artifacts and the scale model of Golden Gate Park.
THE EATS:Spanish Chorizo -- A dish that came with a full, juicy, chorizo link instead of the normally smaller ground up pieces you find in a chorizo dish. Accompanied by a handful of perfectly seasoned potatoes and two even more perfectly done poached eggs. Super thin pieces of cheese were grated over the dish as a finishing touch. This dish definitely did not disappoint. If you're a fan of eggs + sausage, don't hesitate on this one! Soft-Scrambled eggs -- Super simple and classic, yet somehow they've made this a fancy $$$-worthy dish. The eggs are extremely yolk-y (very yellow, very creamy) and true to its name (very soft.) Carefully poured onto a large piece of crispy grilled toast that is topped by a couple slices of tasso ham and spinach, this dish was not only beautiful to look at, but also mouth-watering good.
Samir was our waiter. My sis had the fruit of the sea (frutti del mar?), I had the same dish but the appetizer portion. Can't remember what the cousin had. My sis and cousin raved about the experience. I was exhausted but after one week of eating out with the two of them, I still remember this one meal from one week ago. So it must have been exceptional. The seafood is really excellent. THE OYSTERS ARE AMAZING. Taking my Mom here when she comes. Only $90 plus tip and that includes house wine carafe ($18 for two glasses each) and cousin had a mai thai. Oh and of course, gorgeous views. Food! Service! Views! Drinks! Great times were had by all. Not sure how it could have been any better so you get 5 stars. Thanks Samir!!!Did I mention that the OYSTERS ARE AMAZING???
The new 5th street location is the classiest ever. We've been coming to Little Joe's since 1983 & followed them as they've moved a few times, enjoying the exact same recipes. Open the door & the smell of garlic & sauces puts a smile on your face that the food lives up to. They've added a few new dishes that are great too, thanks to the chefs & the local super fresh fish. The bar is Top Shelf spirits & wine, and the bartenders are great. The HOMEMADE perfect panne cotta shouldn't be missed. The prices are fantastic for the City, but the perfect dishes will keep us coming for another 28 years!
This was my boyfriend and I's first trip to San Francisco, and we chose this place because they serve italian and seafood (he has a shellfish allergy, and was craving italian, and i had a craving for seafood.) So it fit for both of us! The waiter was really great, he promptly checked on us, and our food was out in 15 minutes! Not to even mention how delicious the food was!! Always asked how we were doing, excellent customer service, food and environment. Plus the view we had was beautiful! If i ever go back to San Francisco I will DEFINITELY be eating here again.
We randomly picked this place while in SF and it was a great decision. It was packed and about a 45 minute wait but we grabbed a table at the bar right away. The sourdough chowder bowl was fantastic!! We also got the fish tacos but it wasn't worth the $18. They screwed up the taco order, then forgot to put it on the bill, and then added it but added the wrong amount of tacos and in the end they just comped us the tacos. The staff was super friendly and patient. Love seeing the bread being made right there and how they carry it around the ceiling in the baskets.
We happened to find Swiss Louis as we were visiting Pier 39. Deciding to have dinner here was the best decision we could have made. My New York steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My wife loved the lasagna that she ordered. I, not being a lasagna fan, decided to taste it. I am now a Swiss Louis lasagna lover. The garlic bread was great (be sure to ask for a side of olive oil and garlic). The service was excellent and the management was friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend Swiss Louis! Thank you!
Came into thos nice place by chance when wandering through the pier 39 area. Very polite and nice welcome from the host who seated us just next to the great sea view. The waiter, Michael, was very polite and attentive, patiently got interested in what we like and recommended lazagna qnd seafood assortment which turned to be delightful. The food was well-cooked and very quickly delivered. The place is a bit expensive, but definitely worth visiting once, at least for its service and great view of the bay and the bridge
Wanted to take a minute to thank you and your staff for a wonderful evening on Friday night. Thanks so much for being able to host us on such short notice. You were quick to get me all of the information I needed and you were also flexible and easy to work with. I can personally attest that the red snapper was excellent, and I heard that the other menu selections were yummy, too. And, your staff were incredibly attentive to all of our needs. We had a very lovely evening. Thank you for making it possible.
