Overall, my boyfriend and I had a great experience staying here last October. We, being able to read, found out that out of the rooms came with shared bathroom facilities, which I find to be the root of many people's complaints. Because we didn't want a shared bathroom, we selected a room with a private bathroom. The room was clean and actually charming, and the shower was clean as well. We were never harassed by homeless people and I saw none of them hanging out in the hotel. Yes, it's noisy outside the hotel at night, but what can you do? Is this the hotel's fault? No. Bring ear plugs if it really bothers you, and keep your window shut. Also, I was here to see the city sights, not lounge in the room, so I have no idea if the TV worked or not. Didn't even try it. Overall it was a good price for the location.
Friendly staff home atmosphere
The price of this hotel was amazing. I thought for the amount I paid, the service was great. Check in was extremely fast and the permanent residents came to talk with me. They informed me about this neighborhood. They were very helpful and sweet. I'm a small girl, but when I walked into the hotel I felt safe because they had security cameras and they had a 24hr security for everyday.
Perfect for single guest. The building was as clean as I ever seen. Literally cleanest hotel I've stayed in, considering the area. Nice carpet, wonderful clean rooms. Security code for a door. Quiet and always safe. Staff was helpful, gave me everything I needed.
I found this to be a great hotel for the price. I stayed in what seemed to be a newly renovated room. Very clean and in a good location for the Market St. area. The staff was very friendly and filled all my requests. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend.
Everything was just right in the room.
The new management is amazing and was able to help out with everything that we needed. Its also clear that improving the building and experience is a priority, just in the few days that we were there the building received little updates (like new bedding) that made the entire stay feel more homey. I would highly recommend staying here again.
We arrived after check-in hours, but the management left clear instructions how we should proceed and left a phone # in case of something went wrong. The room was clean and cozy, and we all enjoyed our stay.
Stayed here a night, perfect, easy, cheap place to stay. I lived in Downtown San Francisco for a few years and came to visit, so I know the city very well. Rent in SF is highest in the nation, so finding a cheap hotel has its drawbacks. The Tenderloin is infamously not the best place in the city, but the Adrian really felt like a safe place in it all. The entrance is passcode protected, so no outsiders can come in without a reservation, and the rooms are opened with passcodes as well, which makes checking out as easy as just leaving. The building is old, like all the others in the Tenderloin, and it's not an upscale hotel by any means, but they've done a great job remodeling with what they had, and it feels like a quaint hotel in the heart of the city. Robert was the management onsite who helped us out, and he was very nice. At first our room wasn't quite ready, but Robert brought everything for us immediately. Our only concern we had was with a small light stain on the comforter and the shower wasn't clean. Overall, great experience. For those looking for an easier route from Bart with the least homeless people to walk by, cross all the way on Eddy from Powell Bart instead of Civic Center. The homeless in SF are pretty mellow, but it's unnerving, especially for new visitors.
