Go ahead, try to find a better spot. And IF (note that I didn't say WHEN) you do, come back and respond to this review, and I promise I will give your recommended spot a fair shake.Date / date-night? This is your spot! Just the two of you... this is how your evening will go (for the most part):1. Wait for a seat outside, with some free wine as the fog rolls in (iconically San Francisco)2. Move inside as the wait time diminishes; enjoy more free wine in a warm ambiance3. Get pleasantly surprised as your name is announced, and you walk over to your table with your wine-glasses that were topped off only recently4. Order off the special menu, or the regular menu; they will cook to order too! You can't go wrong with anything. Trust me. I have had everything on their menus.5. Beyond this, what you do, is entirely up to you. But make sure to thank Pacific Cafe for an excellent start to the evening...
I stopped here with the hubby for lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It's a small place, but oh so lovely. A very quaint neighborhood gem. The food was good and service was awesome. Super friendly staff and atmosphere were worth the stop here alone. We had the fried chicken and waffles with Mac and cheese and green beans. Everything was hot and fresh. The lemonade was excellent. You don't find fresh squeezed lemonade much anymore so I would definitely get that again! The reasonable pricing was icing on the cake!
I've been a regular at Pacific Cafe for years. It is by far the best sea food in the city, maybe even the best on the Peninsula. Always fresh, my favorits is the halibut parmesean. It is small and cozy with a very comfortable atmosphere. Expect to wait, sometimes up to an hour (or more on the weekend) but (and this is the best part) the friendly host will serve you free house wine while you wait!
My neighborhood no-frills brunch place. Perfect for when you want a breakfast sandwich stat without waiting in lines. So glad they opened up again recently after the fire! For you foodies who crave something more special - here's a hidden secret. They have a juicer, and they know how to use it. For $4 you can get a massive customized freshly juiced whatever-you-want, totally delicious and worth it!
This place is located across from my office, so I'm a bit of a regular, and that is for a good reason. First, this is a good spot to stop for breakfast as they have a very good egg-white wrap burrito style. However, I mostly go here for lunch and like how quickly they can get me in and out the door. The chicken schwarma plate is my go-to choice but the Gyro is also a good choice.
Totally awesome budget minded little place in the Castro has excellent food. Salads, sandwiches, chow mein and wonderful illness treating healthy soups do a body good!!! Check it out, you won't be disappointed. My fave: Chicken Ginger soup with fresh mint and cilantro...perfect for a cold day, generous portions and all under $10!!!
This coffee house is so quaint and cool. Their stweet potatoes fries are very yummy. Avocado Strawberry Banana smoothie is so lovely. For my party of three we were able to sit for approx. 1 hour and 15 mins with a full fledged conversation without being rushed to exit. Their pho is very elegant and vintage.
This place is trouble! Good trouble that is: most excellent espresso, soy available. Great treats including their legendary toast and coconut milk. Definite hipster vibe, matched with excellently crafted coffees. Lovely itsy bitsy bar area. Worth the journey to the Sunset area.
Simple or fancy sandwiches. My fave is the spicy fish sandwich.Assorted salads including the always reliable greek salad (mmm peperocinis). An awesome soup/salad combo for under $6 (a steal in the FiDi)And FroYo!Head on over for a reliable, quality lunch at decent prices.
I love coming here so much. The manager is amazing & always makes sure all the orders are correct before they come to your table. I placed a very big & detailed order over the phone for pick up and surprisingly it was all correct. the food here is always fresh as well.
