In addition, his as his associate, Crystal, superb customer service & rapport that included very convenient access to a discount car rental greatly helped me to pursue my work as scheduled. Considering all factors I finally selected the option of repairing my car at the Dr. Trans service center in Kearny Mesa. It has been almost couple of month now after the repair and my car is running very well. I am very happy with my decision and experience with Dr. Trans and would like to thank the Dr.Trans Kearny Mesa Service division for their extra ordinary service both at the customer end and workshop. You cannot go wrong taking your vehicle to Mike Allman and Allman Family Auto. He's the best, most honest, & fairest mechanic I've ever come ac…
I took my car in to some other shop in PB, they hooked it up to the machine and said, yup, it's the transmission alright, and quoted me $4,000. Now I know that's too high, so I didn't trust them. I called around and got better quotes, but then called AAMCO on Morena. A guy named Dave answered and described to me the price range for a repair depending on what needed to be done and why, if needed at all. From what I know about transmissions, what he told me made sense and he sounded credible. The quote was also lower and he said he would beat any price in town. I dropped off my car about a month later when I had some cash to deal with it. And they remembered me from my phone call a month ago. So... Dave called me back after looking at my car and says that he's about 90% sure that the problem is not my transmission at all, but corroded battery terminals. Yeah. Battery terminals. So they order some new battery terminals and installed them and kept the car around long enough to drive it and make sure it ran fine, and put some new fluid in there, etc. Car runs perfectly. Long and short is, these guys were competent and honest. They could have easily done unnecessary repairs (whether due to incompetency or dishonesty) amounting to thousands of my dollars and I would not have been any the wiser. Instead, they quickly diagnosed the problem, did some routine maintenance that was needed, and charged me a grand total of $175. Dave was a super straight forward nice guy and saved me a ton of money and headache. I couldn't recommend this place any more. Many thanks to Dave and AAMCO on Morena if they read this.
You bet I would recommend Dr Ttrans. how do you really know if a business really does stand behind their work? I took my 2003 Toyota in for a complete transmission rebuild just over 3 years a go in June of 2009, I have had no trouble the entire time with the transmission that Dr Trans rebuilt for me. But just last week I thought I had ad issue with slamming when it changed gears. So I took it back to Dr Trans. they put it up on the rack made a some sort of adjustment and I have been good to go for the last week. The actual transmission was out of warranty, but Chris made the adjustment for free and had I taken my truck in like I should have for that last years free adjustment I probably would not of had this problem anyway. What a great place to do business with, in a day when folks put you on hold ,play loud music you don’t like, and give you solutions that only cost you more money… Dr trans stands behind their work and were nice enough not to charge me dime when they could have. I told the owner Chris that I would post an on-line comment. You will see this post in several places because of Dr Trans great transmission service. Thanks guys again. If you live in San Diego in the Kearney Mesa Area call these guys.
I was refered to Adrain by my family and was told of how great the work was that he had done on their vehicles. So when my 1993 Dodge caravan broke down and would not start I towed it to the Ruffner Transmission shop with my AAA insurance. I spoke to adrain on the phone and he allowed me to give him the diagnosis that I thought it was and then informed me that he would know more once he had looked at it. Adrian had it for about a few hours and it was already done in the quickest time. I had a fuel pump done and a bunch of other miscellaneous things that add up to about 8 things that he did for me. I think it took him about four hours or less to do everything and everything was done perfectly. Now I feel safe to drive and my vehicle won't break down. He also really worked with my budget and helped me come up with a fair price. He was unbelievably reasonable and understanding and possibly one of the best mechanics I have hard to deal with. So I would recommend him and Ruffner transmission 2 anyone with any of your vehicle problems.
Automatic Transmission Repair Dr Trans Is Great....I have a older Mazda 2003. It started to have transmission slipping problems I live in the Kearny Mesa Area and check out a total of 3 shops in the area. End up going to dr. trans Chris the manager there was up front and didn't give me good news just to give me bad latter. He gave me three options one was just fixing the parts inside the other was a rebuilt transmission and the other a new transmission as with everything it's a cost to what you want out of my 10 year old Mazda so I chose to get a rebuilt transmission it cost me about 1800 bucks to have dr trans put it in and it’s been going strong for about a year now. The other day I thought I ears a noise coming from my transmission so I stopped by Dr Trans and had them take a look at it. Turn out it was a wire that stuck on some how on my drive shaft, how I don’t know. Chris remove it N/C and I was on my way. Nice that why the shout out and good review for dr trans.
This was one of the best car repair experiences of many years. I took my car to this Aamco as it was recommended by my neighbor. It had a problem with the AC after starting the engine, the electronic fan clutch would not engage, causing the AC to overload and shut down. This is an inherent problem with the GM trucks, and there is a service bulletin. Gary was able to work the deal with the warranty where they paid the better part of an 800.00 repair bill (same at the dealer, I checked) It cost me far less, the problem is fixed and I drove away amazed that the whole experience was so smooth. I have to say that working with Gary was a breath of fresh air and deserves to be recommended. He was very patient with the warranty company which was above what I expected. It was well worth
I took my truck into Rapid less than a year ago already knowing she needed a tranny rebuild. They offered a fair price for rebuilding the existing tranny with a guarantee so we went ahead with it. The transmission worked great for some time and then developed shifting problems. I took it back into them and right away, while I waited, they began to investigate the problem. Long story short; the problem turned out to be chaffed/worn/broken wires in the wiring harness that controls the transmission. I know enough about vehicles to know that this issue probably wasn't caused by them rebuilding the tranny but rather just of old age and being worn. Nonetheless they fixed it for free, the same day, and they had to drop the tranny to do it! Great job on their part!
I had sudden transmission issues and found them quickly on my GPS. They diagnosed the problem right away and gave me an estimate to fix. They completed the repairs quicker than they estimated and came in mid-level of the estimate amount. They also told me they back the work with a 1 year warranty. FYI.,.. after I dropped my car off to them, I called 3 other places for the same exact work. They beat all of them, one slightly...and the other two drastically. They also took the time to show me what was done and answered all my questions. I haven't worked on a car since my '68 camaro so i'm glad to have a good place to fix these computer-controlled vehicles.
I just have to say thanks to AAMCO for keeping me happy. I drive a 1957 Chevrolet and it is a daily driver. I took my car to them when I first bought it and I was not expecting miracles for it was a 50 year old car and I understood that as well. I had them rebuild my 2 speed power glide and I drove it for a while then it started to act up on me so again back I go to get it fixed and after taking the car to them numerous times I spoke to the owner Bob and stated that I would like a 700r4 installed in place of the power glide. Bob, Rafael and Tim, took very good care of me and replaced it with the 700r4 trans. and it now runs perfect. Thanks for all your help.
Rapid Transmissions is a supporter of the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, and so am I. That was the 1st reason I brought my vehicle to Rapid. Also the fact they have been in business over 40 years in San Diego, so they must be doing something right. They were very polite, and accommodating. They treated me like family and they did a free external inspection of my vehicle. They also did a complete transmission service to include the pan gasket, labor etc. for only $69.95. That is less than I pay for a tank of gas. I highly recommend Rapid! I know nothing about cars and they were honest! Thank you so much.
