Sheldon Morris, MD, MPH, is a board-certified family medicine doctor. He provides primary care for patients of all ages, including preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. He has special training in preventive medicine.Dr. Morris has served on the faculty of UC San Diego School of Medicine since 2006 and is currently involved in clinical practice, teaching and research. His research work includes infectious disease epidemiology. He is especially interested in the epidemiology, natural history and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV. As an assistant clinical professor of family medicine and public health, he is involved in training medical students, residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine.Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Morris worked in both private practice and public health clinics. He has been a family physician since 1991. He has been involved in the clinical care of individuals infected with HIV and HCV and has worked in youth programs for reproductive health. Dr. Morris completed his fellowship training at the State of California Department of Public Health STD Control Branch and his residency training in preventive medicine at UC San Francisco School of Medicine. He earned his masters degree in quantitative methods at Harvard School of Public Health. He completed an affiliated internship at St. Pauls Hospital in Vancouver after earning his medical degree and his undergraduate degree in microbiology at University of British Columbia.
