Established in 1970, San Diego Youth & Community Services is a nationally recognized, nonprofit organization based in San Diego. The organization serves more than 500,000 homeless, runaway, abused and at-risk youths. It also provides services to over 9,000 children and their families each year. San Diego Youth & Community Services offers a variety of emergency services and operates several shelters, community centers, transitional housing, and group and foster homes. The organization features the Storefront Day Drop-in Center and its group home provides short- and long-term group home placement to youths between the ages of 12 and 17. It also offers counseling, case management and mental health services. San Diego Youth & Community Services provides alcohol and drug treatment, adoption and foster care services.
