Nothing bad to say about this place. It's a regular stop for me when in the area. Rib tickler is a great value.

Waited over a year to try this place out after driving by and it smelled sooooo good. Being older and in the military, I've been ALL over, tried lots of different styles of bbq... this place though, the food does not match the smell. Bought just about 1 of everything off the menu for my wife's b-day. Bbq chicken, average to slightly above ave (for cali), beef ribs, GROSS. I burped/repeated those up for 3 days after that night and gave the rest to the dog, the sides were better than the main foods. The pork ribs were average. The bbq sauce is nasty tangy and has greasy bottom of the pot flavor. Pulled pork sandwich was decent quality like the bbq chicken, though if a bbq place screws those 2 items up, they shouldn't be in business. This place in NOT worth 1hr plus wait. If you are in the military or from out of town, don't expect what other's say, people in SD seem to sacrifice their taste buds going here making it a trend.

Best Ribs I could ever dream of... the experience has me wanting more. I cannot wait to return to Phil's BBQ... Phil's is a must specially when I drive 4 hrs to eat there. Well worth the drive

The best Beef RIBs. The best onion rings. Get the 5 Rib dinner with a ear of corn and share a side of onion rings.

I love this place. I work a few streets down and you can smell the barbecue. GREAT FANTASTIC FOOD, fun lively atmosphere, well worth the wait (as 99% of the time the line is out the door and wraps around the building!). Phil is so the man.

I took my son here for his birthday, I had been wanting to go to phils for the last 3 years, finally we went, the line was out the door , but because the staff displays such team work , my son and I were in and out of there in less then 30 minutes ( dine in) we were so impressed with the way Phil runs this restaurant, we could not stop talking about it to our friends and family, my son loved it enough to go back the next day with a couple of his friends,THE FOOD IS GREAT AND THE PRICES ARE AWESOME, GREAT JOB TO PHIL AND HIS STAFF!!

Phil's BBQ is the place to eat. Awesome food and excellent prices, the staff is outstanding. You have to race to get a seat to sit in, but wow it is worth it! We have only been there once on our recent vacation and plan to make it our regular stop each time we are in San Diego. If you are in San Diego, make sure you stop and have a bite at Phil's...you will be coming back again. You may have to wait in line for 15 or 20 minutes to get in the door, but the food is well worth any wait. Awesome place to eat!!

The food was terrific, the prices unbeatable, and the service a pleasure! We loved the hostess and I liked the many overhead sports screens.

I used to visit a location directly across the street from Phills and the aroma of awesome BBQ smells just wafting thru out the area was mesmerizing. These folks do a bang up lunch business w/lines out the door BUT QUICK LINES as these folks have this process down to a T... I LOVE PHILL'S BBQ. Man oh man is it good.

Best BBQ in town. Ribs fall right off the bones!!
