So far, J.B. Tech Service repaired two analogue televisions - a direct-view tube TV and a rear-projection CRT TV - in our household in the span of a few months. Each television was repaired to our great satisfaction.
John, the proprietor, was our repair person in both cases. He was highly courteous, knowledgeable and patient with us. The two televisions are of different brand origins and of different technologies, but in each case, John was able to pinpoint the root-cause in a matter of minutes, then gave us very accurate estimates on the timeline and cost for the needed repair.
John's costs were actually very reasonable. He showed up reasonably on-time every time. In the case of the rear-projection television, as it is normal with this class of TVs, the unit needed a bit of post-repair adjustment on the picture. John paid a second visit absolutely free of charge and did the adjustments promptly and right.
We highly recommend J.B. Tech Service, particularly John for television repair work, especially of the direct-view and rear-projection kinds, for which we have had direct - and very pleasant experience - with his service.
John, of JB Tech services, strung me along for months promising to work up an estimate for the repair of my television. I needed the estimate to validate a warranty repair. After stringing me along for months, I begged him to get it to me before the warranty period expired. He stated that he was too busy and that I should try another shop. It will cost me $3K to replace this television and there is no recourse any longer with the manufacturer. Some customer service!
Sean R, I have reviewed all of our communications, all occurring between December 12, 2009 and January 15, 2010. You requested that I provide a written estimate for a TV 30 miles away that I have not seen. Should have declined at first chance. That's my error putting it off. Finally, I could not overcome my suspicion of your request or my possible liability as you stated you were going to present my estimate to your credit card company. I thought it best to ignore your request. As I understood, the filing window was still open with your credit card company when I closed the subject with the following email dated January 12th 2010: "Sorry Sean, I'm buried in tv repairs, many getting past due. I suggest you take the TV to a shop, but don't tell them up front you expect the TV to be a total loss. Who knows, the repair may work out better for you than the credit card route. Sorry I can't be of any more help with this. Regards, John"

My 6 year old Panasonic flatscreen HDTV stopped turning on. The first place I called said they do not make house calls because the TV was too small (had to be over 40 inches and mine was 32). They would come get it and diagnose it for $89 but it would be a week before they could get out. So I called John at JB Tech. He came out the very next day to diagnose the problem FREE OF CHARGE. Turned out to be a fuse, which he had on him. He had the problem fixed in less than 30 minutes. The total charge for this was an incredibly cheap $65. If I ever have a problem with any of my TV's again JB Tech will be the first and only ones I call. Great service, friendly, prompt and very reasonably priced.
