I have naturally curly and frizzy hair. I constantly flat iron my hair and I end up having really damaged hair. I've tried getting a straight perm before but it always either left my hair really damaged or made it look super pin-straight which wasn't very pretty or natural.
So, for a while I had researched different places and I ended up trying Ellure Salon. What was interesting to me was before I could even get my Japanese Straightening was that they had to test my hair first to see if would respond well. All the other times I had done a straight perm, they never asked or tested my hair. That was the first indicator that they were pretty professional.
After they tested my hair, they said my hair was okay and I got my hair straightened. Jenny, who was the woman who straightened my hair, was super friendly and very nice. Usually when I get my hair permanently straightened, it's an extremely long process ranging from 3 to 5 hours (I have long hair). But with Ellure Salon, it only took 1 1/2 hour!
My hair now is beautiful. It looks like I was born with naturally straight hair. It's shiny, healthy, and of course, straight! Jenny stressed how important it is to have the hair healthy and looking natural because then it looks more beautiful and she really left me with gorgeous hair! She didn't straighten the ends of my hair so they could flip out a little which adds to the natural look of my hair. I absolutely love it!!
I recommend this place to anyone who wants the best Japanese straightening. It is a bit pricey but compared to the other straight perms I've had, it's worth the money. I'm definitely going back once my hair grows out!

When it comes to styles and cuts, no one puts as much time and dedication into your look than Jenny. Using almost every tool in her grasp, she sculpts your hair creating a new look especially for you! Jenny is simply amazing, her fun, charm and cozy shop will leave you feeling right at home and when its time to walk out; you WILL look like a Milllon bucks!
I came here for the first time today because my friend recommended it. AWESOME place! Jenny is super nice and friendly. She gave me the nicest haircut with amazing bangs! She even taught me how to style it. I can't wait to go to work with my new style!
I am so glad that I found Ellure Salon. I was in desperate need of a change, so I went to Jenny to get my hair done. She gave me a Japanese perm and a great haircut. I absolutely love my hair now! It looks and feels great. It is so much smoother and shinier, and the cut looks terrific! Jenny is such a wonderful person. She was so friendly, and she made my hair look amazing! I love the fact that she came in early on Sunday morning just to do my hair. I have a very busy work schedule, so it's hard to get my hair done any other time. She was so helpful, and we talked the whole time I was there. I didn't even really feel the need to read magazines while I was there. I was entertained the whole time. I just can't imagine why anyone would ever say anything negative about Jenny. I am so thankful to her for making me look beautiful. I was strutting my stuff when I walked out of there. I will keep going there for as long as I live in San Diego, and I recommend her to anyone. I also got to meet two of her stylists ( Teela and Eric). They were both very friendly as well. Thanks Jenny!! You're the best!

I used to be a regular client at Ellure, but when I found out Jenny the owner was really rude and unfair to her other stylists, I decided to stop going there. She also made me very uncomfortable the last time I went in for an appt because she talks badly about a lot of people to her clients which I think is extremely unprofessional. I certainly don't want to be around someone who makes me uncomfortable in such an unprofessional way!I would rather follow the other girls wherever they go than go to Jennys salon!

I moved to San Diego in 2005 and have been looking for a stylist forever. I read wonderful reviews about Jenny and Ellure Salon so I decided to call for an appointment. I was a little nervous since I've had terrible experiences in the past. From the minute I walked in the door I felt at home. Jenny is very friendly and sweet, not to mention extremely knowledgeable about hair. She asked me alot of questions and gave me tons of advice. I learned alot of new important things. I was very comfortable talking with her, it was like we were friends for years. The cut she gave me was perfect! I absolutely love it! I plan to have the Japanese hair straightening done in a couple of weeks and am very excited. She explained everything in detail so I know exactly what to expect. I'm very happy that I found Jenny and her salon. I'm a customer for life.

I recently moved to San Diego, and was looking for a new stylist. I read online about Jenny at Ellure Salon (very positive reviews!) so I decided to give it a try. I was able to make an appointment for the next day. She listened to all I had to say about what I wanted, and asked important questions (are you low-maintenence or high-maintenence). She's honest enough to say, ""That won't look good on you,"" which is so important in a stylist! She gave me a wonderful cut and color, all I wanted and more. The salon itself is intimate and comfortable, though parking can be a little tricky. Just leave yourself an extra 10 minutes or so before an appointment to find a good parking spot, or take the trolley. I highly recommend Ellure, particularly Jenny.

This small cozy salon is located near Petco Park right in-front of the Market St. & Park Blvd Trolley station and steps from Petco Park. I got my hair done here and loved it. The atmosphere and decor is top-notch with an Asian theme. They use great products and the prices are great. I would recommend trying this salon.
