Core Plumbing San Diego
I hired this company to install a very nice faucet purchased by my husband that wasn't a 'big brand'. Apparently the plumber had never heard of the brand.
The handles were installed to turn the wrong way, the fixtures were loose, and it started leaking about 30 days after installation. Added to the estimate after I signed it were extra parts that doubled the cost of the work.
I called about the leak and the incorrect handles. The plumber came out. He stated since it wasn't a brand he was familiar with - it was a piece of junk, and insisted we got a defective faucet and would have to replace it (with an expensive brand, plus new installation charges), and that the handles were supposed to turn backwards.
My husband fixed it himself - got the handles to turn correctly - and replaced a $3 washer to stop the leak. It took about an hour, including a trip to Home Depot. Turns out the faucet uses the same internal parts as a very major very high end brand. They never bothered to look or check it out.
I called to complain, the boss came out and basically told my husband they did nothing wrong. The repairs my husband made actually didn't fix anything and that they couldn't have known that it was just a washer that caused the leak, and basically everything was our fault - not theirs.
I really expect a plumber to be able to deal with hardware - even if I don't buy it from them. I felt that they were slighting me and assuming too much about the faucet they apparently didn't know anything about - including how to install the handles to turn the correct direction.
Never again - do your own install and save a ton of money and aggravation!
I am suspecting that Martina123 may have hired another company in SD County that had the same name back in 2008. (We were in business first and they are no longer in business, but it was very ugly for awhile). We pride ourselves on commitment to customer satisfaction and would not have left the consumer with faucet handles on backwards, and then argued about it. The "boss" at Core Plumbing San Diego is me, the DAD. And the only other employee is my son, Grant. So I believe this review is a mistaken one and meant for our previous competitor. If Martina would like to contact me, I would very much like to either confirm what I have stated here, or rectify any problems that might remain unresolved.
