Nestled in the heart of Ocean Beach at the west end of Newport Ave., Dreamgirls is a quaint and attractive woman's clothing store and boutique. The owner, Bridget McGirr, is passionate about what she does. She has a hands-on staff that reflects her enthusiasm. Bridget and her team are excited to serve whoever walks through the door whether they are a frequent customer or just passing through. They take pride in helping unravel the personality of each customer in order to find what suits the individual best. And don't be surprised if the employees and Bridget make you smile and laugh in the process. Should they feel like their store is unable to provide for a potential buyer, they will let them know having no qualms about not making a sale. Because Dreamgirls is located in Ocean Beach, which has its own vibe, the range of her clientele varies greatly. The locals bring a different flavor than vacationers from all over the world, but Dreamgirls likes them all. This is why the personal approach the Dreamgirls staff takes with the individual is so important in regards to figuring out what is suitable for that specific customer. They are constantly on the move trying to find their customers the perfect wardrobe for any occasion. There isn't a shi-shi fru-fru, arrogant air about the store and staff, but this is not a grungy, grassroots boutique either. If you haven't been to this store before, now is a great time to stop in. The staff at Dreamgirls can't wait to meet you.
Gay fashion has never been more straight friendly than at Martin and Wall—The Collection, a kaleidoscope-colored menswear boutique that has been occupying 5th Avenue for almost a year. Owner Brandan Wall has placed his mother, Jo Ann Wall, at the front of the store so that the amiable service begins the moment a customer walks through the door. Whether you are looking for an in-season French Connection shirt, the latest Ben Sherman accessory, or a new pair of Calvin Klein underwear for you or that special someone; Martin and Wall has something to fit every man’s fashion sense. Prices might run a tad bit high, but the sales tag only parallels the quality of the merchandise and everyone gets a free hug from Jo Ann before they leave. Word of warning to shy clientele: you might be asked to model certain articles of sexy clothing for other shoppers (this reporter politely declined) and honest-to-a-T opinions are passed around like a hot potato. If you come with the understanding that impromptu fashion shows are a part of Martin and Wall’s charm, then you will have no trouble finding an outfit on the rack that screams anything but buyer’s remorse.
This last Christmas and birthday season (I have one of those unfortunate December birthdays falling within a few days of Christmas), I was fortunate enough to receive an abundance of gifts from friends and family. However, the one that really stood out from the crowd, that practically made me tear me with how much thought much have gone into it, was a personalized coffee mug. This particular gift stood out from the crowd, and is treasured not only for itself, but for the constant reminder of the caring person who went out of their way to give me something personalized just for me. When you really want to show someone how much you mean to them, (and have fun creating something unique), getting them any item that can be embroidered, engraved, or in any way personalized, is by far the best way to go. EmbroidMe San Diego has an incredibly large assortment of not only apparel, but mugs, glassware, bags, uniforms, towels, and even lip balm, that can all be personalized in a number of ways. Items from EmbroidMe will be appreciated and loved, and are perfect for any gift giving occasion!

I was in town for a conference and looked up all of the nearby record stores. FeeLit was my first stop. Great place. Good variety of records and other cool stuff. The guy working that evening was the best. Showed me around the store, put some of my selections on the store stereo and made sure all of my choices were cleaned before I left. The vinyls were already in excellent shape, but I appreciate him making sure they were as clean as they could be and he even set me up with a media mailer to make sure they got home safely. Ended up with about five used vinyls and one new release. Good prices on all. Great store and excellent customer service. If you are in town and staying in the Gaslamp district, just walk on over to FeeLit and get your vinyl fix.
This is an amazing store with many wonderful clothing items and accessories. Gloria was very nice and helped us find some amazing items to take home with us to help us remember our Seaport Village experience. The store offers many different types of San Diego themed items from shirts to handbags. They also offer a variety of jewelry including necklaces, rings and unique and original bracelets. Gloria, the woman who worked there, was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the items in the store. Overall, shopping at Seaport Island Fashion was a very fun experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to visit the Seaport Village Shopping Center.
Oh man, for vinyl hounds like myself who thought downtown San Diego was dry, Feel It comes to the rescue! Excellent selection of records, which makes sense with a DJ working behind the counter. But beyond that, they have a lot of really unique art and collectables, as well as clothing. It has an Urban Outfitters feel without all the pretention, which makes me happy. And they support local artists and musicians, which makes me even happier. Kudos!
I have been summarily impressed with their service. The dry cleaning has been really good, and I recently brought in a knit sweater that somehow got a large hole in it, and the woman there was able to not only stitch around and close the hole, but also put a beautiful flower over it so that no one would notice. I consider it service above and beyond expectation.
Pleasant Owners at Joy Max Cleaners These are such nice people I thought I should let others know. I take my laundry for dry cleaning here on a weekly basis. They are so easy to work with and they do great work. I work in an executive office and have expensive clothes. I would not take my clothes to Jo Max Cleaners week after week unless they did a great job.
I love it when my close are pressed correct! I'm sure if you have taking your clothes to the cleaners you know that some cleaners press your clothes with double creases and wrinkles. I'm so glad to write this review for Joy Max Cleaners. They do really good work and they are very friendly.
