Very rarely does a sure thing arise, but when the opportunity is there, take it. That's just like VegNout. If you are a card carrying carnivore, take a bite out of a meaty burger or smothered hotdog, and ask whether you can tell the difference; the great part is, even if you can, the taste won't make you care. And for vegans, many items on the completely vegetarian menu can be made so.But at VegNout not only is what you eat important, but what you eat with. Every utensil, to go box and anything else you lay your eyes on involving the in house choices comes from either recycled products or otherwise eco-friendly material. Except one little thing, promotions for the bottled water that makes donations to cleaning up water sources around the globe are made of plastic. A more than forgivable instance. So for bringing a substantial dining choice to the community, and realizing it in green hues, VegNout is a definite destination.
This is THE thing I miss about living in San Diego... We used to live down the street from this amazing little eatery and have been there probably 50 times in the past 4 years. We have NEVER been disappointed. From the incredible wine and beer selection to the AMAZING mac and cheese, I don't think I've ever had a meal there that I haven't loved! I love their commitment to sustainable food, as well as fresh, local produce. With a seasonally changing menu, I always look for something new to try, but I have to say if you are into it, GET THE MEATLOAF. It is the one thing (besides the mac and cheese) that I look for EVERY time we go. It's moist, and delicious and the lamb pairs incredibly well with the sweetness of the figs... it's not your Momma's Meatloaf, but it sure is DAMN good. Top off that meatloaf with the salted caramel pot de creme and you will need to be rolled out the door, pleasantly stuffed!
This place has great food and good drinks, I've been there three times. I saw my waitress twice the entire night. I couldn't believe it, the entire night luckily Eric, the server who did not have my table made sure me and my wife were taken care of, this place sucked. I had great drinks and food but wtf come talk to me it's not hard. My wife's drink was also soda and syrup. I was missing silverware for 25 minutes. Eric was the only one that noticed we were pissed. Dont go if ur tryn to impress. Foods good but service is hit or way way miss.
We are a ladies lunch group meeting each Wednesday. This week The Broken Yolk at Carmel Mountain got the nod. Brian was our server who explained the menu and accepted our coupon with his friendly smile. He brought refills of soft drinks regularly. Everyone's choices hit the mark. 3 ladies ordered eggs benedict. Another lady enjoyed a club sandwich. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with ranch dressing, a lunch special. We enjoyed our lunch so much we are returning next week to try a different menu selection!
I have been going to Elbow Room for a few years now and have had a great time, every time! Elbow Room has large selection of beer on tap; if you’re a beer drinker that means a lot! The bartenders know their drinks and know how to treat their customers. Elbow Room is not a dive bar and not an over price down town pub, Elbow Room is just right for people who just want a good time and great memory with no problems. I diffidently recommend this place!!
I love the Yard House! I've been a fan of this down to earth bar chain for years. It's a Southern California classic. They always have pretty much any kind of beer you could want, as well as a anything else. I've recently become a fan of ciders. The food is actually pretty good, even for a bar. Burgers are great, and the chicken strips with french fries are an old favorite. I usually take friends here for a calmer nite out or for pre-flight.
I ate here last weekend. It doesn't look anything like the photo shown above. Instead, it looks like it just stepped off Bourbon Street! very New Orleans with wrought iron and all. I tried the chicken salad sandwich it was a good lunch. Didn't care for the fries, to be honest inn-n-out has better fries, but the over-all aesthetic is what makes North Park special and different than other neighborhoods in SD.
This little Bohemian eatery was much more than I and my friends had expected. The food was awesome, fresh and flavorful. They offer about 40 items, I couldnt believe it. We had the Kolada Kiss Tropical Smoothie. The place was way laid back, music great and ambiance chill. The prices were better than I had expected. This place is definetly my most favorite vegetarian place in San Diego. Definetly local vibe.
What could be better? Fish tacos, beer and the beach! South Beach Bar & Grille serves up some excellent tacos. The fish is excellent and the beer selection has something for everyone. You get all this while soaking in a great view of the beach behind the bar. The service maybe a little slow at times since it is always busy but, with the way the waitresses look all is easily forgiven.
I am so lucky I randomly came across this restaurant during my stay in San Diego! I got the egg scramble and it was so delicious, I came back two days later. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere feels like you're at your cool, hippie aunt's beach house (if I had one)! Also, as a musician, I appreciated they were playing Chet Baker through their sound system. Amazing place!
