Balanchine Masterworks this past weekend at Spreckels Theatre was stunning! A terrific evening and afternoon, as I went back again to enjoy it a second time! The dancers were amazing. It was so beautiful, thought-provoking, delicious to watch and to listen to the live orchestra, as well. It was so nice having such a high level performance here in San Diego for our community to enjoy the brilliance of Balanchine and a phenomenally talented company to perform the work. Thank you for a delightful weekend. Don't miss City Ballet performing Balanchine next March - it's sure to be fabulous

City Ballet is THE Ballet Mecca for San Diego . Compared to other schools my daughter has attended , City Ballet is unique in that all of the instructors are professional dancers in their own right , many of whom are in the City Ballet Company . If you want your child to learn from the best in a NURTURING, POSITIVE environment then City Ballet fits the bill . The studios are funky but the instruction brings students from all over the world who realize what this best kept secret in San Diego offers.
We had a great and very successful party here. The beautiful ballerina , and the place as well as the monitor TV really works to satisfy our needs. I can definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to hold a ballerina for their little ones. Nice place, clean, huge, and everything I have nothing to ask for. Thumbs up and good job for the Ballerina !!!
The Spreckels Theater, by the way, is a truly charming and surprisingly intimate theater. This staging featured a live orchestra that is seated at the same level as the first few rows of seats so it is not buried in an orchestra pit. The ornate theater and presence of the orchestra leads to a very memorable experience. Worth every penny!
Took my 95 year old mother who loved to dance to watch Balanchine Masterworks. Each of the 3 segments showcased a different style of dance. They were all spellbinding and we couldn't pick a favorite. Thoroughly captivated by the art in motion that the dances, costumes, lights and symphony brought to the stage. Bravo!!
All around just excellent! A great experience for my Wife and I. She absolutely loved it! The second act have done amazing ballet performed by two dancers and no one else. Their dance skill was really show cased!
The best show ever! That's right..I'm talking about the Nutcracker... and the dancers and the orchestra did the superb jobs! I'd recommend this place to anyone I know.Looking forward to this year's show.
I love the messiah program. I enjoyed the decor in the speckles theater. I thought the men sounded better than the women. The best part was singing Christmas hymns in the lobby after the performance was over.
It was a wonderful experience expeience because it was my youngest Grandaughter's first time to see the Nutcracker. The theater amazed her with its beauty. She loved the costumes and the settings
I'm a classically trained ballerina and this ballet was simple nice and elegant. Not only did the ballet company dance eloquently but the classical feel of the theatre was charming.
