Dr. Aller graduated from UC Berkeley in 1979 with highest honors and received the departmental citation, the highest honor of his college. He graduated from the School of Optometry, UC Berkeley in 1983 and received a research award. He later served as a clinical instructor at the school in 1990 and 1991. An innovator and researcher, he developed a software product, Exerceyes that treated the visual problems of computer users. Dr. Aller has completed the world's first scientific study on the use of bifocal contact lenses to control myopia. The study showed conclusively that Dr. Aller's patented method of myopia control reduces myopia progression by 90%. He has now partnered with an international research group to develop new and better lenses and techniques of myopia control and vision enhancement.
