UPDATED POSTING & CHANGE IN RATING:I revised my original rating of one star (based on my experience cited in the "Old Positing" below) to a five star for this location because management apparently pays attention to these reviews: (1) they cleaned house with new personnel and (2) training was apparently re-emphasized: The staff is extremely friendly at the window, orders are filled correctly; sauces are included, and the menu terminology confusion has been corrected. Great job top management in responding to your customers!_______________________________________________OLD POSTING:(1) This particular location on Wurzbach and IH-10 over the last 36 months has invariably filled our family orders incorrectly, and one time there was a huge puddle of pickle juice on top of one of our BBQ plate orders. (2) For breakfast, they always seem to forget hot sauce with the order. (3) One very frustrating issue is a lack of training for the window clerks. When ordering CHICKEN TENDERS as described on the drive-through menu, the fast food clerk ALWAYS refers to them as & STRIPS; this continuously frustrates our family, as well as a few of our friends who also dine there, for fear that our orders will once again be filled incorrectly. RETRAIN THE CLERKS OR CHANGE THE OUTSIDE MENU: ARE THEY CALLED STRIPS OR TENDERS?! Overall, this is surprisingly terrible customer service considering the long-time positive experience I have had with other locations. I recently noticed a change in personnel as of February 2011, so we'll see how things go. If it's not fixed, we're gone!
Food is good. Service sucks. Wondering how they still on business. They had a manager about two or three months ago and it was awesome. Wonder what happened? They take forever to bring your food. Waitresses don't check on you. No hostess ever on the front. Took forever to get seated

The food was great but the service was awful. I would order to go if I ever got off of HOLD. Then when I got there the cashiers complaining about being too busy and couldn't take my order right now. I waited almost an hour just to put my order in when I was trying to AVOID the wait by calling in…
They have a turkey and dressing special on Sundays, that definately makes you want more, and cranberry dressing included. Multiple sides, definately worth coming to time and time again!!

This place is great......This city makes it very hard to get anything good to eat other than mexican food and out of no where pops up this wonderful family run spot. Great pizza and amazing wings........My suggestion is they relocate to a better location seen from the street they are a bit hidde…

Have used them for catering large company events with over 250 people spread out over two shifts. They have a number of things to pick from but the overall favorite is the Three Meat Plate, with potato salad, beans, bread, jalapenos, iced tea, and pies and cheesecake. We have had various celebration dinners, but our employees love them best of all. They love the taste of the food and they love how quickly they are served. I love their effeciency in serving, their courteousness, their willingness to meet our needs, and at this last event, the extra touches they made to make it the greatest catering event for our employees. Looking back, I can remember when looking for a caterer and seeing their name, I only thought they did hamburgers out on Austin Hwy. I took a chance went by, tasted the food, decided to use them, and our employees loved it so much I have kept using them and will continue to do so.
My husband & I visited the location out Blanco Rd at just past 8:00 to be told the buffet was over; they were making no more pizza for that. Second time this happened. Well no wonder the place wasn't busy at all on a Sat night! The thing is- they didn't seem to care at all that we were not happy & leaving. We expected it to be quite crowded really with the last of the Spurs playoff games on. That's how this location used to be. And they'd ask if they could make you a certain kind of pizza- used to always be a nice visit. I wouldn't be surprised to see it closed soon w/ "no buffet after 8:00". That's just too early. They close at 10:00. They're doing this for their convenience, not the customers, like so many businesses do these days. Good luck Dave's but we're not going back.
I'm in from LA and how can you be in Texas and not get some barbecue? The reviews I read on this chain elsewhere were mixed, but since it's right next door to my hotel, I tried it anyway. I got the rib plate with three sides. The first rib I had was absolutely great! Tender and wonderful and it put Los Angeles Bar-b-q to shame. The other ribs on the plate must have come from an earlier batch because they were dry and overcooked, and a little bacony tasting. Oh well. I still enjoyed that first rib, and would go back to give them another chance. The service was friendly and efficient, and the place clean and comfortable. The sides were good also. Give it a try if you're in the area, and be happy with good, but don't expect fantastic.
I came here for lunch on a Thursday. The line was out the door for ordering but it moved pretty well. I ordered the lunch special. Two slices with a coke. Pretty good deal. ($6 after adding 2 toppings on each slice.) The pizza was very good. It had a thin crisp crust. I wanted to get a refill on coke but there was a line of people waiting to get their first cokes so I ended up not getting a refill. (I’m not sure if they charge for refills.)I was warned that the employees can be rude. (Kind of like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld.) I didn’t really experience any rudeness.By noon it was very crowded so get there early for lunch.Overall good. Not my #1 favorite pizza in town but a CLOSE second.I would go back.
It was just ok. I had the lunch special of 2 slices + side salad. Salad and pizza were good, but not great. The crust on pizza was thin but not crunchy...I liked that, but it needed more cheese and sauce. I also took an order of Chicken Picatta to go. It was not what I expected. It was a super thin pan seared chicken cutlet with capers on top...no butter sauce or anything. It came with slightly overcooked spaghetti noodles and a little marinara sauce. I wouldn't suggest this menu item. The service was good. The place is very tiny and very hot. There is seating outside, but it was 100+ degrees so we didn't choose to sit outdoors.
I went here for lunch.I had the Wallet Watcher's Special with brisket, pinto beans and green beans and it came with a drink. It was reasonably priced at $5.59.The service was excellent. The food was served very quickly.I liked the all you can eat serve yourself pinto beans. The brisket was average. The BBQ sauce was good and they kept a bottle on the table which is awesome! The green beans were ok but I wished they were more like Bill Miller's.The sweet tea was excellent.Pickles and onions were serve yourself. Nice. The decorations are pretty cool.Overall it was very good. I plan on going back.
This place is cool. I like the NY style attitudes...to an extent. The pizza is good, it's not my favorite though. I see that many feel this is a good NY style pizza...I've never been to NY so I really don't know. But if it is, I think that style is just not my thing. I did love the crust...it was thin and crisp, but not cracker like. I liked the sauce, but I prefer more cheese. And as for the toppings, they were good but I prefer mine baked onto the pizza. The meat toppings are baked on, but the veggies are added after baking. All in all, it's good if that's what type you are looking for.
We went to Julian’s yesterday for dinner and it was our first time visiting this restaurant. We were very impressed! It was very family friendly, but would have been nice for date night too. We sat outside in the patio section, which we highly enjoyed. I’m not really a fan of pizza, but we ordered a large pepperoni because I was out-voted. I actually loved the pizza! I ate more than I want to admit. My boys (ages 2, 4, and 7) loved the pizza, too! We definitely plan to go back soon. Oh, and the staff was really friendly and had great attitudes. We appreciated that.
Just got my pasta from here, and it was very delicious!! We ordered chicken alfredo and lasagna...both were fresh and the garlic bread was hot. Service was so pleasant. I had read some reviews and was hessitant, but it was so not what I had read about. I did find out it was under new ownership. I called the one off of hillcrest (which is still owned by the old owner) they were so rude and I honestly didnt even know I was calling a pizzeria!! PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE THE TWO. I WILL DEFINITELY BE EATING HERE AGAIN!!!!!
