I wanted to love them due to price&the initial customer service provided.Turns out the $70ish quoted is not all you will pay.They will nickel&dime you for everything& their employees can pick&choose what they pick up.When I first signed up I requested bulky pick up of some couches.I paid upfront&we put them out the day before pickup.Well a fam picked them up so metro was off the hook. I didnt bother to call them for a refund.It was $20,not a big deal.I figure some days I will have more trash then others so I didn't mind giving them the extra $20.Well today we put out extra trash. Well their drivers refused to take them&whn i called customer service I was told we have to call&report each&every item that we put out &its considered bulky trash $5 a box/bag.Had I been told this when I signed up,I would have never signed up for service.Super inconvenient to have to call in &report your trash & on top of that prepay every extra box that you put out is absurd.I was then told I could drive it in for free,as if I wasnt paying them to pick up my trash already.I thought that was the understanding..I pay you for your service&you in return provide the service. We put out a xmas tree & a pallet as well &was told that needed to be paid for. I dont mind paying for the pallet/christmas tree but paying $15 extra dollars for a few boxes is absurd. I wouldn't have the audacity to ask for a refund for those days my trash is half empty or not put out at all & I expect that the company would in return understand that some days we will have more trash then others. I am attaching pictures so you can see the "bulky" items for yourselves. If anything I'm glad I discovered this now & not after the Christmas holiday when we have an abundance of trash. I would like to add that Tiger sanitation costs $90 but we never had issues with them in the 5 yrs we were w/them. You get what you pay for and in this case, if you have a family of more then 4-5 , then i would not recommend metro waste .

Been with Metro for 3 years...I've never had any pickup issues. I've only had great service. The office staff has only ever been professional with anything I've called in about. I make my payments on time, they always pick it up, and place the can WITH the lid closed and back where I set it out. Never had any issues, great company...keep it up Metro.
only pick up trash once a week (4 days a month) and charge $74.65 quarterly, and expects a family to have sufficient with their one can and one personal. When I was told prior by Lori that I could have two personal cans. Now after 5 years I am being told that I can only have 1 personal can along with the the metro can. The customer service and change over is not what it was like back in 2012. I am disappointed and frustrated with the change over and Hector is never available and his office never takes messages just tells me to keep calling early and he seldom is in the office?? So who is at the top of command? No one knows?? Tiger services will accept 2 personal cans along with their 95 gallon. And as someone mentioned earlier " yes they are willing to encourage you to take your business elsewhere and even butter up with a partial refund per Sandy"!!
Metro is the best garbage company in SA, I've been with them for over 2 years. No issues. I have never had any problems with them picking up my recycle or waste. I can even call in to make a payment. Customer service has been nothing but exceptional with everyone in the office when I call. Thanks Metro.
I have this service but have recently had issues. They have only picked up my trash once in two weeks. I called them about the issue and they said they had no idea why the driver didn't take our trash so they told me to put out both my recycling and trash out on the next pick up day and that the driver would have to call and tell them when our trash was taken. Well they didn't take our trash again and they have no answer on why they skipped us. We are sick of dealing with the poor service and lack of answers. Take your money somewhere else!
This companies attitude towards customers certainly has changed! The drivers are continually saying I don't put my recycling out on time, yet I always set it out the night before, and security footage shows otherwise. Even though they are the ones at fault, the manager Lauren hung up on me and then told me it was "perfect" that I was cancelling my service. They then sent someone immediately to pick up my bins and even went into my back yard without my permission to get one of their bins. I paid for 3 months of service and most likely won't see a refund. They claim to be a family owned company, and even used to treat you this way in the beginning. But today I found myself so confused how I as a customer, was actually having to argue with management! I'm honestly a little afraid of retaliation the way I was spoken to. I'd definitely steer clear if you expect respect and good service from a professional company, which this one is very far from.
I had service with Tiger, until the STOPPED picking up my trash for 3 weeks! and still wanted to charge me! Then when I called, no answer, and when they called back days later they don't want to give me a refund. Very frustrating! I have switched to Metro, what a HUGE difference! They answer their phones, delivered carts quickly, and their prices are great! Thank you for great customer service! You all have been awesome!
AVOID THIS MESS OF A COMPANYThis is one of the worst businesses I've ever dealt with. They miss over 50% of the pick ups. When I call they never call back, they lie about someone coming out. Screwed up the billing by "posting check to wrong account" Never credit back for missed pick ups.Always a different excuse. None very goodI swear this must be run out of someone's house in between episodes of the people's court. We are done with these dead beats.
Avoid this company at all costs!!! Their service is terrible. They don't show up when they say and when you call them, they lie to you. I've left 5 messages for the manager, and he is always "in a meeting", etc. Not to mention, their billing is always incorrect, and it is a fight to get it corrected. Save yourself time and a major headache, and find a different company.
