I spent years thinking and debating what kind of tattoo I wanted and came up with a tattoo in my head and I was stuck on this idea of this tattoo. I wanted this tattoo very much and there is no way or no one that could change my mind because I made up my mind and thought about it for years. I am a person that overthinks everything. I went to different tattoo shops all throughout San Antonio. I found almost everyone was rude and acted like I had no knowledge of tattoo or what I wanted; many others tried to talk me out of it, or gave me ideas to change it. I never got a quote because they never took the time to understand what I wanted. I went to Platinum tattoos in April of 2014, first off the shop is very clean and the lady at the front desk was very nice and talked to me about each Artist, lucky for me an Artist was filling in for someone at the Dezavala location and his name was “Picasso”. This artist sure lived up to the name and was very nice and talked to me about the tattoo and quoted me right on the spot. This artist drew an outline of my tattoo without having anything to reference to, just the idea of the tattoo I wanted. The tattoo took about 4 hours, he talked to me throughout the process, and making sure I was doing ok. When he was done my mind was blown, I could not believe that he tattooed this amazing piece of art work on my body. For years I could only imagine this tattoo on me, and the tattoo was better than I could have ever imagined, I could not thank him enough. If you’re looking for a shop and you have high expectations then go to Platinum Tattoo, you will not regret it!!!

I had an outstanding experience with this tattoo parlor. I am extremely pleased with my tattoo. The artist was Tobias Flores. He did an amazing job with the color, shading and detail. I'm definitely going back to Tobias for my next tattoo. He did my wife's first tattoo a few weeks back. I was…
My overall experience from the time I called to the time I stepped out the door was FANTASTIC!! I chose custom ink tattoos based off of their awesome website and several excellent reviews. I loved being able to see each tattoo artist's personal picture and individual work before I came in. I…
Ok, I went into Three jewels too price a tattoo because I was looking for a new artist. I showed the owner, Tony Trophy, what I wanted and he trashed it saying that he has done that tattoo so many times that he isn't going to do it again. (I have wanted this tattoo since I was young) I went back…
Mario is an amazing tattoo artist. He is great at what he does and I am SOOO happy that I got my ink done by him. Ask for him when you visit, he will most likely be working on something dope. Take a look at his stuff at mrwho.tk nothing but the best.
14. Twisted Tattoo
I came in to get a portrait of a Joker done, and was highly pleased. Without a doubt the best tattoo shop I've ever seen, and the artists love to have fun with the tattoos. My wife so got one the same day and was in love with it. Best shop in texas by far
My fiancé and I both got ours here. Won't go anywhere else they're like family. Chris did my side piece and it came out beyond what I imagined it to and he has a very steady hand and Rachel is just amazing. Highly recommended
19. Revolution Ink
I came in to the shop to get an old tattoo covered up & these were great with me. They helped me come up with the art design and cover it properly. I'm so happy with the outcome because I hated the old tattoo. Thanks Lace for the awesome tatt, I love my new tattoo!
I went there to get a tattoo to honor my fiancée who passed. He took the time to listen to what I was wanting. I have a beautiful tattoo that honors Richard. He will be doing any more tattoos I get. It is important for them to listen to what you want then transfer it into art
It's not that we're fans of pain, but we ARE fans of this shop. It's a cozy intimate place with an intense tattoo buzz for knock down art, and just intense in general! Nice location in Hispanic neighborhood, reasonable pricing.

They are rude, unprofessional, but most of all PERVERTS!! They do not have any respect for women and to top it off the prices are outrages. No good art at all. On top of everything else there's Presa hookers walking around outside. Disgusting. Degrading.
This is in response to Mr. or Ms. Sweetz28, you have no idea of what you are talking about. I personally respect and admire all the hard work Aracely, Adrian, Shanice and Ruffo put into this tattoo shop. They are all REAL GINUWINE GOOD PEOPLE. Aracely was blessed with a creative, vulgar and beautiful mind and was blessed to be an American with that right to express what she wants to say on Facebook. Now you can say what you want as well, that is your right. But give credit where credit is due, how many people subscribe to her on Facebook? Is she not running a very well known tattoo shop on a THEE busiest street in the Southside? Just because you have a closed mind or are jealous of her and what she has, doesn’t mean you can go and leave such a disrespectful message about the business. Adrian and Ruffo’s tattoo work is known around town for how awesome it is, Shanice is a young prodigy at piercing and Aracely is doing an outstanding job on the net “REPPIN” the business and managing it as well. The tattoo shop is family orientated, clean, professional, fun and welcoming to anyone and everyone who comes in with a good attitude. I’ve got to know these people on a personal level and they are even more awesome than you would ever know. This is the only place I go to get all my tattoos and piercings done. So Sweetz28 you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. My opinion is, you are talking out of your rear end. Sincerely, Jonathan Reyes
Had a forearm tattoo done here about 3 weeks ago. Though my appointment started at 3, I got out of class early (around 2:15) so I decided to head over there and hope my artist would be ready for me. Unfortunately he wasn't but it was no big deal since I cleared my entire day's schedule to get my tattoo. 2 1/2 hours later, he was finished with the stencil and it looked great! He got a slightly different picture than I had given him, but it was lighter and allowed him to copy more of the details hidden in my photo so that was a plus. We finally got started around 5:30pm. Almost 6 hours and 3 breaks later, he was finished. The detail in my finished tattoo was amazing! It was way above my expectations (no offense) of what I thought he could do. The only thing that's preventing me from giving this shop 5 stars is the fact that I spent close to 8 hours of my day for about an 8 inch tattoo on the inner part of my forearm. Wish there would have been less breaks or at least a slightly bigger size, but I am completely satisfied with my tat nonetheless. Definitely going back for my sleeve except this time I'm gonna check up to see how my stencil is coming along before I show up and spend a good chunk of my day just waiting.
I had my tattoo done there totally on a whim while on a vacation with my husband and kids. I'd had a version of what I wanted in my mind for years, but I am no artist. I described my scene to Norm who turned it over to Matt. The piece that Matt came up with blew my mind. Never in a million years, could I put my description in such detail. The problem was that his art, ended up being quite a bit bigger than I had in mind. (Did I say that this was my FIRST tattoo?) I admit that I was not the easiest person to draw for! After a few re-dos (and, admittedly, cutting some of his cooler things out of the design for the sake of size and placement) it was the perfect size and perfect tattoo. Matt did an amazing job! I have wanted this tattoo for so long and cannot imagine that anyone else could have come up with something so perfect me. Being that this was my first tattoo, and I have no other experience with them, I have no clue if I charged appropriately- however, I'm thrilled with the work and would rather love something I may or may not have paid too much for than underpay for something that looks like crap. I will be going back.
I had heard nothing but good things about Texas taboo tattoos so I decided to go by and check it out. While I was there I saw the tattoo work of the owner and tattoo artist Brown . I was amazed . I was sold instantly . He had done amazing work on every person I saw. It was my first tattoo and I wanted it done right . We went through a few ideas and he asked me so many questions so we could be sure that we got it right. He took his time and literally took hours just working on the perfect design. After it was prepared and ready he started on my tattoo. I honestly think its one of the best tattoos I've ever seen in my life. I love it and will always love it. If you want some one that will give you a tattoo that you'll love for life go to Texas taboo tattoos and go see Brown! Tell him Steve from freestyle sent you and he will take care of you on the price! A++++ 2107337515 . I promise you , he's the best in San Antonio . Find me on facebook my name is Steve Long . You can see the amazing job he did on me.
My overall experience from the time I called to the time I stepped out the door was FANTASTIC!! I chose custom ink tattoos based off of their awesome website and several excellent reviews. I loved being able to see each tattoo artist's personal picture and individual work before I came in. I wanted a 10 year old tattoo that was fading revitalized. i was greeted with a smile and a handshake by my artist Jason. The shop was energetic, clean, and comfortable. Jason was quick to assess my old tattoo, answered all of my questions, offered a more than fair price, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. He was extremely gentle during the whole session and constantly asked me how I was doing. I'm a medical professional so this resonated with me. Jason took my tattoo to the next level. His hand is steady. His work is beautiful and precise. He is an extremely talented artist. I am beyond pleased. I've asked him to help me create a mandala piece as my next tattoo.
I was stationed at fort sam houston 2 years ago and i found custom ink. I had been to many of the other shops in town and either found the skill lacking or a general unfriendliness with the artist's also those who advertised military specials only specialize in trying to over charge me.. Then a cabby recommened custom ink within a few minutes of meeting able i was sold not only where the people friendly but also very skilled in there trade also i received the artwork i wanted at a price i could not beleive for the amount of detail the peice required.I recently returned to san antonio and revisited custom ink and to my surprise not only are they now offering the military free round trips to the shop when work is purchased but also they have setup multiple Tv's showing all sports and UFC.If this wasen't enough the prices are still low for how good the work is.I will always return and leave happy again and again this shop rocks....
After a horrible experience at the Platinum on 410 E where the practitioners were both rude and unattentive to clients, today i paid a visit to Platinum off Evers and I was pleasantly surprised at how different these shope are. Not only is the staff friendly and professional, but they value their clients and strive to please. Today I had 2 individuals who had to correct my lip piercing and 1 who gave me an amazing tat on my foot. They were clean, professional and definitely made up for the lack of quality found at the Platinum off 410 E. Even the manager was social and proactive with the clients despite some people's previous reviews as to him being a jerk, that is highly NOT the case. Platinum off Evers is the only place i will take my friends and sorority sisters, every other place is by far lacking in comparision. Thanks guys for your service and my brokn arrow. Ill definitely see you on mONDAY!!! -kRISTINA
This shop was recommended to me by not just one but most of my friends. Everyone seemed to get a tattoo at Texas Taboo except for me, so I said Hey, I have to see what all this talking is about........ I went in confident of what I was getting was perfect, (owl) but when the artist started talking to me to add this and add a few more tweeks I was surprised of how better his idea was.....Now, that right there was an artist to me! He started talking about color, and roses, for a second I thought it was going to be a lot of money but his pricing was f*king awesome!! I went in confident, and left feeling on top of the world.....I loved it, there is no other place I would get my tattoos after going inside here....I have to give credit for the shop being so unique! from the texture on the walls to the paintings, the color, and decorations...Everything was so clean!
Carlos Lemon did my first Tank Girl tattoo... and I couldn't be any happier with it. The photo I brought in on my phone was colored and I really wanted a black and white tattoo. He had no problem at all playing with the saturation and contrasts in the photo until we agreed on the right balance for the look that I wanted it to have. When it came to do the actual inking in he was very patient and fast.. as well as very gentle.. as gentle as you can be while sticking someone with various grades of needles. :) He answered any questions that I asked and over all the experience was by far my favorite of any other tattoo artist that i have ever visited. I have other tattoos from different artists from other parts of the country, but I am most satisfied with his work and hope to be revisiting him to do a tribute to my brother. :) Thank you Carlos! You Rock!!
