Unprofessional, Additional Surprise Charges, Poor Customer Service, Borderline Scam!First of all 2 Stars is generous...the only reason Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration received any stars is because of the guys that actually did the work. I purchased this Groupon for $100, and it was supposed to be good for a basic carpet cleaning...or so I thought. I was given a time frame to have the carpets cleaned between 1pm-5pm. My family and I had already moved out of the area, so we were trying to coordinate our cleaning with our trip back to San Antonio...At 8am I called Paul at LSCC, and got his voice mail. I then sent him a text to confirm the appointment and time frame. 1pm came around and I still had not had any response to the missed call, nor the text message, so I called again and even sent an email(Emails and Texts are the appropriate channels to reach Paul, per Paul and his voice mail message). Still no response...My wife then called Paul once around 2pm, it went to voice mail. She immediately called back and Paul answered. Before Paul abruptly hung up on her, he was very impatient and lacking compassion for her and was not listening to her concern. We were aware of the time frame, but were only trying to verify that our appointment was still set. You see, we had already moved and had a 2 hour drive to get to the house that appointment was set for. We were only looking for a simple confirmation, but instead were met with hostility and absolutely no customer service. Once they arrived to clean the carpet, I was informed that beyond paying an additional $40 charge for stairs, that I would have to pay a $20 gratuity, Disposal fee, taxes...bringing the total to $117. This was not even including the $100 Groupon I already paid for. The total for the whole transaction was $217. This amount did not include special attention areas...it was a basic carpet cleaning! Definitely feel dooped and taken...Would not recommend EVER...It is too bad Paul is unprofessional, because his workers were kind and got the job done.
I would like to thank your Team for the excellent customer service you provided for my family. We suffered a water line break and our home was flooded in the middle of the night.A gentleman by the name of Adrian arrived on sight within 30 minutes. He was patient with me because I was kind of hysterical during the disaster (bless his heart) he explained everything that needed to be done, more than once because I was really going through a lot at the moment. He called the insurance company for us spoke with them directly made the claim and immediately following that a team of men arrived to start the clean up and dry out.The following morning the office called us and followed up with us regarding the water leak and they sent someone to estimate repairs and they also dealt with the insurance company directly. We only had to pay our deductible and our house is almost completely finished better than before.Me and my family would like to thank Saints for the quick response during the pipe burst and also thank the office and staff for everything they did for us such as dealing with the insurance company and adjusters.I will recommend your Team to anyone in need of service ,thanks again Saints!
Philip of Amazing Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning has come to my rescue more than chicken fried steaks appear on menu's in Texas! Within seconds, he removed a stain out of my favorite chair, and also transformed carpets in two different houses I have lived in, from gross to glorious for an uncommonly reasonable rate. He's got to be the most reliable man in the industry too because he never gets sidetracked. He is professional and will never be careless with your home; he doesn't nick the walls or furniture ever, and he's even dog friendly! All other carpet and upholstery cleaning services might as well shut it down and find other businesses to run because Philip is the only one out there doing it right! Don't hire someone to just come out and pour cleaner on your carpets, been there done that, if you want it thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, smells and stains gone, and your carpets to look factory new, Philip of Amazing Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning is your lifelong carpet and upholstery care man!
First let me state, at my hotel, for the past two years Phil has been our goto carpet guy when jobs are to big for my housekeeping department. I decided to use Phil at my residence due to the fact that he is one of the best in the business. He is always early, his repairs to carpet are done right the first time and his steam cleaning is top notch. When you compare his services to the other carpet companies you cant beat his price and level of customer service. Working at the hotel, we have called many different vendors over the past 5 years and Phil is has become our sole carpet cleaner/ repair guy. Again, I can not speak highly enough for his service and I will continue to his service both at my residence and at the hotel. Thanks Phil for your hard work!!!!
We have used Amazing Carpet for several years. It is an owner/operator small business. When you call for an appointment you speak to the owner who will take the time to set up an appointment with you and follow it up with a confirmation call the day before your appointment. He has always been on time if not a bit early for our appointments - rain or shine. He will do a walk through with you at the start of the appointment to ask if you have any specific concerns. He has also been very helpful by offering suggestions on how to maintain the carpet between cleanings (for example advising how to properly treat pet stains, etc.) His prices are very reasonable. The service he provides is exceptional.
This company & it's employes offer great customer service. I called STEAM MASTER CLEANING and received same day service. I moved to SA into a rental property and the carpets were still dirty with stains from the last tenant. I would ask for Bryan Davenport as your technician because right away he knew what treatment to use for each stain. As far as the carpets, they felt new again and I'm very pleased with the service I received for a great price. Also I want to add that not only do they work on carpets but Bryan was able to restore my sofa that I had in storage and made it look and smell like new. I'm very happy the service I received and thank you Bryan for doing an excellent job!
Mr. Webb provided a deep carpet cleaning in my home. Due to the age of the home and carpets, they were extremely dull and dirty...Mr. Webb brought them back to life!Mr. Webb listened to my request and responded in kind to my needs. He accommodated my "emergency" schedule by coming the next day. What should have taken Mr. Webb less than a couple of hours to clean the three carpeted rooms, he went the extra mile by taking his time and putting in extra muscle to get the job done.Mr. Webb is professional, courteous, trustworthy, and punctual...not to mention, he has excellent prices for the services he provides. I would definately recommend Charles to others, and I will use him again.
Salvador Gonzalez is the owner and I dealt almost exclusively with him. He was very personable and always very reasonable with any requests that I had. I believe that the price he charged was a fair price and the work was done quite well. If I did have any complaints, he responded quickly. I had them refinish my kitchen cabinets, paint the entire interior of my house, and install granite window sills. I do have one minor issue with the finish on the side of one cabinet, but he said that the refinisher would come again to address the issue. We were getting ready to go on vacation and they even worked on a Saturday to get the job done before we left. I would definitely hire them again.
Amazing Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning, owned and operated by Mr. Phil Gross, is the only company I will do business with from this point on. I have had poor service with Dirt Free Carpet, owned and operated by Mr. Aubry Theodee, the last two times I hired them. In striking contrast to the service provided by Dirt Free, not only was Mr. Gross on time, he was polite, knowledgeable in his field and when he finished the dingy look of the carpet in the heavy traffic areas and the stains that were left by Dirt Free were gone. Thank you for your expertise Mr. Gross. As long as we have floors and furniture to clean in your service area, you have this family as loyal clients.
We were in the process of moving out of our rental and the carpets were filthy from three dogs (1 being geriatric and messier than usual) and not being cleaned for over four years with LOTS of traffic. Phil did a fantastic (and quick) job, even doing more than we asked without charging extra. He made sure that we were completely satisfied before leaving us. The carpets look better than they did when we moved in! He also repaired a damaged patch as well. His prices are extremely reasonable and he was very pleasant to work with. If we ever move back to SA and need our carpets cleaned, Amazing Carpet Cleaning will be our first choice. Thanks!
Mistakes happen, and when it comes to owning a carpet or rug, mistakes usually mean stains. The plush softness of carpet and rugs comes with a price: the time and care required to clean them. Cleaning your carpet or rugs can require some extra work and special techniques that differ from typical hardwood or tile floors. In some cases, you may even need to hire a professional to get the best results.
For minor stains or routine cleaning, it's possible to effectively treat a carpet or rug yourself. If a thorough vacuuming doesn't get rid of dirt in certain areas, here's how to tackle them on your own.
A number of liquids can stain carpet or rug materials, including wine, coffee, nail polish, or blood, to name a few. Depending on what caused the stain, the carpet or rug's material, and how long it's been there, you may need to use different techniques or cleaning supplies to get rid of it. In general, though, keep the following ground rules in mind for stain removal:
Take these steps to remove a stain as soon as possible to prevent drying.
Some stains may come out with little more than water or a mild soap. More serious stains may require a solvent to make removal easier. The best solvent to use depends on what caused the stain.
-Water-soluble stains: These include berries, cola, food dye, jelly, mud, washable ink, or wet paint. Mix a solution of 1/4-teaspoon nonbleach detergent (or white vinegar) with 32 ounces of water.
-Dark water-soluble stains: Chocolate, coffee, mustard, tea, wine, and bodily fluids often stain much more readily than other water-soluble materials and need a different solvent. Use 1 tablespoon of ammonia mixed in 1 cup of water first. If this doesn't work, try combining one part chlorine bleach with five parts water. These solvents may remove color from certain fabrics like wool, so check with the manufacturer for the best cleaning method.
-Oils and waxes: This would include glue, gum, nail polish, and cigarette residue. The best way to clean each of these varies - some may need to be simply scraped off or, if possible, frozen to make it brittle and then chipped away. Most glue can be dissolved and removed using a solvent like rubbing alcohol. Nail polish may also be dissolved using rubbing alcohol or with nail polish remover containing acetone.
Unfortunately, some stains may prove difficult to remove using household products. In any case, vacuuming and spot cleaning may not be enough to get your carpet or rug looking like new again. That's why many homeowners opt to hire a professional carpet cleaning service on a regular basis, around once every 12 to 18 months.
When it comes to heavy-duty carpet cleaning, you have many options to pick from. The two most common methods for cleaning carpets are steam cleaning and dry cleaning.
Steam cleaning is a common method for professional carpet cleaning, but the name is somewhat misleading. Steam-cleaning services use machines that utilize hot (but not boiling) water in combination with a vacuum. The water is heated inside the machine and sometimes mixed with detergent before being sprayed directly onto the carpet. At the same time, a vacuum sucks up the water almost immediately after hitting the fabric. The hot water extracts far more dirt and stains than would be possible by hand.
Cleaning machines using hot water extraction can be purchased or rented for home use, but they aren't always as powerful as what professional cleaning services use. Improperly drying the carpet may also cause bacteria or mold growth. Professional cleaners also employ a number of other methods to pre-treat the carpet and ensure adequate drying. For these reasons, professional carpet cleaning may be preferable to do-it-yourself methods.
Carpets or rugs can also be thoroughly cleaned using a dry-cleaning method. As the name suggests, there is much less water involved in dry cleaning, which means the carpet can be ready to use in less time. Using powerful solvents to break down dirt and stains, dry cleaning puts less physical stress on the carpet, and thus might be better in the long run. However, dry cleaning is usually more expensive than hot-water cleaning services. In addition, the chemicals used to dry clean carpets might irritate pets, people with sensitive skin, or anyone sensitive to strong odors.
Before choosing a professional carpet cleaning service, make sure you will be getting what you paid for by asking the right questions and doing your homework.
Again, there are pros and cons involved in using a hot-water-based cleaning service or dry cleaning. Take into consideration not only cost, but how long the process will take from start to finish, including drying time. Also take note of the material your carpet is made from, and consult the manufacturer if possible to learn about the best ways to clean it. If you or your family is sensitive to any chemicals, be sure to keep this in mind and ask about what chemicals are used.
You can find reviews of most professional carpet-cleaning services online, as well as information about a company's specific process, the chemicals used, and cost. It's also wise to ask friends and family members about services they've used in the past to get a recommendation. Don't always go with the service offering the lowest price, or hire a service who advertises door-to-door or over the phone, unless you have done thorough research on them.
Carpet cleaning services will be entering your home, potentially while you aren't there, so you want to feel comfortable with the business you trust with this responsibility. Ask if the company conducts background checks on employees, as well as if they are insured in your state. Without liability insurance, a mistake that results in damage to your home or furniture may be your responsibility to pay for.
If you've found a carpet-cleaning service you can trust, ask to get a quote. This may involve specifying exactly what services you would like performed, as well as the size of your home's carpeted area. Make sure you understand exactly what is included in a quoted price. Some businesses may charge extra to move furniture, clean stairs, or use special treatment methods. It's also common for businesses to sell customers on products and services they don't need. Don't hesitate to ask questions if any detail about the quote is unclear.
If you instead want to rent or buy a carpet-cleaning machine to use yourself, you have many options to pick from.
Since heavy-duty carpet cleaning isn't a frequent activity for most homeowners, many choose to simply rent one of these machines. Of course, renting is usually much cheaper than owning a machine or hiring a service, which is the biggest advantage in this situation. But not all rental units perform equally, and some might require extra drying time or the use of special solvents that will cost more. There's also the time and effort that goes into carpet cleaning - renting a unit means you must also move furniture yourself and pay close attention to ensure you're operating the unit correctly. Making a mistake could mean damaging your carpet or the unit itself. Also, improperly drying carpet could allow harmful bacteria and mold to grow. Before renting a carpet cleaner, make sure you're up for the task at hand.
Homeowners can purchase carpet cleaners ranging from compact units to full-size industrial-strength machines. Besides price, take note of the features of a unit and compare them to what you most need from a carpet cleaner. Some models specialize in removing allergens from pet hair, while others may work better on tough stains, for example. Another key consideration: Make sure you have room for it. Some carpet cleaners can be bulky and require ample storage space.
Other features you may want to look for in a cleaning unit include:
Make the right choice in carpet cleaners by considering all the options available to you and how they fit into your needs and budget.
