If you want to try a different cuisine.....tired of Mexican, burgers or pizza all the time? Don't want that sluggish feeling ya get after eating so much pasta again?Experiment and try out some Israeli cuisine. Fresh and delicious food like sandwhiches made to the order---with even the vegetables cut/sliced fresh to order. I know this because I have seen it myself. Combinations of flavors and food items that are unique to many people, but that you will really LOVE when you go. Don't miss out on their incredible soups too! You'll want the entire batch of soup----they're that good!As a frequent customer here, I have seen new customers come in, order items they've never tried or tasted ever before, and watch them DEVOUR their plates and state how delicious the food is. Doesn't that say enough?Having coffee that's better than Starbucks doesn't hurt either! Seriously true, folks!Ya know how you can go into some places, ask them questions about their food and it's like they're annoyed with it or they just don't know? I promise you, you will NOT get that type of service here. They're happy to help, happy to explain things to you.So, just do it. Try them out. You'll thank me for the suggestion.

My husband and I are very picky about cakes. In the past, it seems all birthday cakes look pretty but taste bland. Not the cakes by Cynthia! They are delicious! She made a 2 tier cake for my daughter's birthday party-- the first layer was strawberries and cream and the 2nd layer was chocolate a…

While staying in San Antonio we didn't have a car and were trying to save every dollar possible, which meant walking instead of taking the bus. So we walked all the way from the other side of San Antonio town to get to this little cafe. It is literally situated in what feels like the middle of nowhere. It was worth the walk. Everything is gluten free. Not only that, but it tastes delicious. A wide variety of food on their menus, from burgers to pies to sandwiches. The cakes and sweet treats are delicious and they have a freezer full of frozen foods you can purchase to take away with you.Just delicious. Even if you're not gluten free!
Just had lunch here. Great experience. The employees were friendly and the facility is very clean and neat. There seemed to be a lot of measures taken to ensure cleanliness. There was hand sanitizer near the trash cans, the plasticwear was in a dispenser so your hands would only touch your piece not the others, the busser was cleaning tables using sanitizer and clean towel shortly after guests left and the drink station was also neat and clean. The food was good too. I had the Turkey Artichoke sandwich. I have had the same thing other places and Hearthstone's was better than the others. I will definitely go back!
Very good! I went here for lunch today and my entire group enjoyed their dishes. I had the 1/2 Fried Shrimp Po'Boy and fries. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked and it was VERY filling. The fries are frozen crinkle cut variety and a little soggy so I would probably wouldn't order them again. But everything else was GREAT! The service was good and the food came out quick. I will be back! Oh and the menu changes daily, so what's online is what the have every weekday. But there are several other dishes that change daily that are not on the website.
Just had lunch here. The food was great! Lg portions of good cajun food. Only thing is that the service is not good at all. The waiter was on the phone most of our visit and was not very welcoming when customers entered the restaurant. He was scrambling to find menus and cups with ice for the drinks. They have live music on Friday nights, and I'm curious to see what that would be like...maybe better and more upbeat? I will def eat the food again, but next time I think I will call in a to-go order and pick it up.
The food was great! I grew up in Louisiana, and this place made me feel back at home. The food was so good that I literally ate until it hurt. The service was good, but it would have been hard not to be. It was really slow when we went and I am pretty sure the owner was our waiter. She didn't say for sure and I didn't ask. Oh, well. I would definitely recommend this place and I would definitely go again.... and again.... and again. :D Yum. I'm getting hungry just thinking about this place!
I had the Jalapeno-Cheddar french toast from the brunch menu. It was very plain, with very few jalapenos and no cheddar cheese that I could taste. In San Antonio, if a dish has jalapenos, I expect some heat. The menu states that it is "dipped in special batter". The batter seemed to be a simple egg-milk mixture, nothing special, The coffee was luke warm and just average quality. Service was attentive.
Sophisticated home decor furnishings in the heart of Alamo Heights (5924 Broadway, next to Bird Bakery). Stylish boutique with unique accents, table linens & fine furniture. Jon Hart & Nest candles too. Its beautiful inside with always something new that I want to take home. And they also make custom Orchid arrangements with these big beautiful orchids or smaller exotics are available.
Surprising, the burgers are truly old fashion flavored. With the juicy meat and the crispy toasted bun around the edges. The fish sandwich is flavorerful, too. Put on a bun with two white meaty fried fish. Also, the dinner is super clean, and family fun. Single women can meet good looking men from the Ft. Sam Base. ;)
I love the food. I like the way the place looks. It's clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The food is just what the sign says, mamas cafe it's that good as if your southern mother cooked you a great meal, and all you gotta do next is sit out on the porch and feel full lol.
