Founded in 1964, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is an enforcement agency that works in the area of workplace discrimination. It develops laws and policies to provide equal employment opportunities for individuals. The commission specializes in providing jobs for minority people, women, people with disabilities and older workers. U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission conducts enforcement, litigation, educational and outreach activities. The commission hosts panel discussions and employs investigators, trial attorneys, administrative judges, law clerks and mediators. In addition, it hires information technology specialists and program and management analysts. U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission also sponsors various contests and events for school children. In addition, the commission provides fellows programs for federal employees, professors and graduate students to participate in research and projects related to discrimination.
