Town & Country Veterinary Hospital

This place is horrible. Long wait time, staff is rude, and all the doctors here are trained to run the same test just to run your bill up fluids, blood test, xrays, sonogram etc. I waited for 4 hours to get treatment for my dog to have him even worse then what he was when I first brought him. Doctors will not even work with you they still charged me another exam fee when their doctor who couldn't even speak English nor treat me dog properly. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO ELSEWHERE!!!
My significant other recently had an emergency with is pregnant dog and it looked like she may require an emergency C-section. This vet hospital was the closest one to him that had the equipment for the delivery, should that be required, so that is where we took the dog. After $400 for an x-ray and exam, he was told that the dog was not going to be able to deliver naturally and would, indeed, need surgery, which would run between $2000 to $3800. Neither of us had that kind of money and in the end, he was forced to do the only other thing he could do - euthanize her. Through all of this, the veterinarian and vet techs were cold and appeared completely uncaring while watching someone cry his heart out for his baby. This dog was just under 2 years old and healthy otherwise. No other options offered. No other ideas for being able to save an otherwise healthy and happy dog. I've never seen vet staff so uncaring about their patients and family. I can say with certainty we will NEVER use this vet hospital again and I will do my best to steer people who care about their babies away from these people.
I took my cat ther because she was twitching and having muscle spasms uncontrollably. She was foaming at the mouth and would fall over as if she was exhausted. After their exam the vet told me that she had toxic poisoning from the flea drops we gave her the day before. He told me that she would have to be hospitalized for 3 to 7 days. The tèatment she needed was going to cost $2000 to $3000. I was very upset because I knew I couldn't afford it and I did not want her to suffer. I assumed that my only other option was to put her down. My wife was at work at the time and we were texting back and forth. She said that one of our other cats had experienced the same thing and all she did was give him a bath and he came out of it and was fine. The vet said that the poison was in her muscles and would require the teatment. They give me two quotes one for the treatment and the other for the cost of putting her to sleep. I listened to my wife and took her home and bathed her really good. Around four hours later my cat was doing a lot better. She wasn't showing any of the things she had before taking her to the vet. And by the next morning she was back to her old self, playing, eating, and purring. I can't believe that this vet was going to let me kill my cat. They had to have known that her condition wasnt life threatening and that a bath would probably bring her out of it. All they care about is the money!!!! I was literally crying for her in the way home thinking that I was going to lose her. And they let me think that way. They did nothing to give me hope or to change my grief. Never take your animal there. The staff were very nice but other than that they either need more experience or they purposely allowed me to think that my cat was sicker than she really was. I hope they go out of business and never make another dollar!!!!
They let my sweet dog die!!. Their top priority is your money. they are cold and calloused. The so called night vet Garza or Garcia is incompetent and should not be their. She lacks experience. She had no idea what she was doing or what to do except to make sure you will pay. She suggested to keep my dog for 1-2 days for observation but I didn't trust her. so I took her home. She injected her with something that made her worse. She couldn't breath so I rushed her back. I was so scared and trusted them to care that I went back. I should have taken her somewhere else. The so called vet and tech are so cold and calloused. they did not comfort my scared sick dog. instead the tech had her on the floor forcing her to stay down. they had some cone shaped think blowing oxygen. It wasn't even at her face. I asked her to let her stand up but she refused. they were dong nothing for my sweet dog. Again, they didn't try to calm her down or talk to her they just stood their watching her suffer. The so called vet had to call another doctor... Stiller, also useless. Again, all they care about is your money. I am so devastated, angry and guilt ridden. I should have run out of there with my sweet dog. I trusted them, I let my sweet scared dog die alone with these cold calloused incompetent monsters. their care is not for your pet but for your money!.. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am extremely pleased with this place. Happy people that seem pleased to be working there. Dr. Spiller seems to like his job and patients He is personable and appears to like animals. Above all the hospital is CLEAN AND SMELLS GOOD. They do not push products on you. They show you the bill first so there is no surprise at check out. After a vet that padded my bill and did not seem to like animals I chcked out five places. Town and Country was the best place I visited.

We have moved a lot since we got our dog 11 years ago and he's seen probably 15 vets through the years. Dr Spiller and the other vets at this clinic are very thorough, very concise and they get to the problem at hand. We added a rescue to the family who had some issues and they fixed her right up and she is a happy and healthy dog now. Straight answers, no bs product pushing and the clinic is very clean and organized.
The tech and admin staff are also very friendly and they get to know you and your pets pretty quick. the two things I'll miss about San Antonio are the hamburgers and the Town&Country Veterinary Hospital.
Town & Country has the best hours I've encountered for veterinary clinics. I appreciate the weekend hours as it's almost impossible to take my cats in during the week with a more than full-time job. Dr. Spillers was very attentive and the staff was very friendly. They exhibit a lot of empathy for your pets and for you. They do tend to be pricey for some of their services and the front desk needs some organization to cut back the time on processing payments. My cat got a little antsy waiting in his carrier while I was trying to pay and the staff had to confirm what to charge for before she could take my credit card. In my opinion, that should have all been worked out before they presented the bill to me. Despite that however, overall, I am a fan of this veterinary clinic.
I am preparing two pets to flight them to Europe. It was hard to find a clinic doing this service close to where I live. Even though this is not the cheapest clinic, they are very clean, professional and have all the equipments and facilities to resolve your problems. Never had a problem in the 8 months I have worked with them to clear the dog and the cat for Europe's requirements. Dr Spiller has taken the time to study and explain each step of the process and their estimates have been clear and transparent, no hidden fees or charges. This clinic is more expensive than others I have used in Grissom road and Perrin Beitel but they are very professional, clean, clear and provide a good service. Staff has been friendly and appointments and correspondence has been fluid and steady. Good service, serious and professional clinic.
i called today and asked for a just a paper for a pet health certificate and they wanted to charge me with 153.53 for just a paper for travel. i think it is a big rip off for real. i can find other place for 42 at the cheap pets vaccination clinic for real.. that is a big scam for real !!
\i would not reques that at all...

A while back our dog came became very ill. She threw up one day and effectively didn't eat anything for our four days straight. We were obviously very concerned. And, we spent a lot of time and money at the emergency clinic. In day three of all of this we took her to Town & Country Veterinary Hospital. We were told they would keep her overnight and track her progress. They said they would keep a food diary where they would feed her small increments of food every hour to see how she responded. They also said they would give her a small amount of water every hour. We drove home feeling good about everything. However, when we got back, we realized we forgot to give them her medication that she was instructed to get at 11 PM. After work, I drove back up to the clinic to give them the medication. When I got there, I was told that no one would be at the clinic at that time. This obviously concerned me given how ill our dog was. I then started to asked some other questions like when they last feed her. They said they hadn't feed her. She had been at the clinic for almost 8 hours at this time. I then asked about the water they were giving her. The said they had a bowl in the cage. Nevermind the fact that she had specific instructions to get no more than 1/4 of a cup of water every hour. I asked about her other medications. They hadn't given her any of them. They basically just stuck our extremely sick dog in a cage without any food or medication and where going to leave her there all night. I was absolutely livid. I told them to give me my dog so that we could go back to the emergency clinic. They did. But, of course, they made sure to stick us with a $120 bill before we left. When we got to the emergency clinic the vet couldn't believe what he heard. He ran a bunch of tests and instructed us to feed her as soon as we got home. She's doing better now.
Needless to say, I highly recommend avoiding Town & Country Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Shedd took great care of my dog, when our normal vet was out of town. He was awesome. Not only do we love the whole staff at Town and Country vet, we were impressed by the other veterinarians. Dr. Shedd was as kind and loving as Dr. Spillers and new exactly how to get Peyton feeling better fast. He reacted immediately to our dog's emergency and made her a priority. We could of lost her, if it wasn't for Dr. Shedd. We would highly recommend this hospital to everyone! They are the best vets in San Antonio and have the best hospital
I have used T&C Vet hospital for my cats and dogs and I have always been pleased with the results. The waiting area's are very clean and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The vet's are professional and knowledgeable and have always taken the extra time to explain and make me feel comfortable about both the diagnosis and the plan for treatment. I have been to many vet's throughout my life and T&C is top of the list.
Dr. Spillers is so wonderful with animals. He can solve problems, answer questions about your pet, and is even willing to be there for you in emergency situations. I highly recommend him as a veterinarian. I promise you that he will go the extra mile for you an your pet!
