Not the best...but I have had worse. They claim to have the "Best Tacos in America", I beg to differ...or maybe I ordered the wrong ones. I had lunch there today. The service was excellent but the food is not impressive. I ordered the Soft Chicken Taco lunch plate. The plate looked impressive with 3 chicken filled corn tortillas smothered in a ranchero type sauce. The corn tortillas used were pretty tasty as was the chicken. But the ranchero sauce, the beans and the rice were all VERY bland. I had to add a ton of salt and pepper to get some sort of flavor. I also added salsa that was served with the chips. The salsa was tasty but not spicy at all. Additionally, I believe the prices are a little to high. I paid $3.49 for a side of guacamole...it was a small spoonful of smashed avacodo served over very mild pico de gallo. I added salt and pepper to this as well.
The only thing I REALLY enjoyed was the flour tortilla served with my plate. They were delicious. Also, I tried a bite of the sopapilla and it was good too.
I wouldn't mind going back to try the nachos I saw come out of the window or even a breakfast taco (in hopes that maybe they would be the meaning behind their "Best Taco in America" claim).
I came here for lunch on a weekday with a group of seven. We heard there’s not a lot of seating room and it gets crowded during lunch. They were right. People were lined up outside waiting for a table. We arrived early and were able to get seated right away.
The staff was very friendly and the service was good.
I had the beef puffy taco lunch plate. The food and salsa were average. My friends really liked the flour tortillas. I had the corn tortillas. They were tough and tasted freezer burned.
The prices were a little high considering that you can get equal or better food at other places around town and a lower price.
I would go back but I’m not in a hurry.

Wow! I have never been treated by anyone like I was treated there today. We were asked to wait outside, so I did with my ten month old baby. Other people walking in were allowed to stand inside and were seated. So naturally, I open the door to walk inside and a server puts her hand in front of my chest and pushes me outside- yes, while I was holding my baby! The manager said that she was too busy to deal with me. I am still in shock.

When we walked in the place was disgustingly dingy. We were in from out of town and I was hesistant to sit down but was starving. Waitress was cold and unfriendly. We placed our orders and the food came out and was luke warm. We ordered deluxe nachos and I don't know what was deluxe about them as they barely had any cheese and maybe 4 pieces of fajitas and more beans than anything. We asked for more cheese and the waitress took out plate without saying a word she was soooo rude! On top of that my friend ordered just nachos with cheese and beans for her son and they didn't even bring it out! We were all finished and the poor 4 year old was eating from siblings plate and when we finally say we don't want the order since they forgot about because we were pressed for time they bring them anyway and say we already made them and try to charge for it. R U KIDDING ME!! I have no idea what the magazines where thinking just walking in the place it looks gross! The food is not even authentic it's luke warm and the eggs are runny !

My boyfriend and I picked up tacos togo from this place and we were a little disappointed. We had heard so many good things and the tacos were just mediocre. The bacon in my taco was almost non existent. We wont be back. There are so many other places in the area that have better food.

Those white folks from that food magazine don't know good mexican food. Go to The Original Donut House on Fredricksburg Road. The tortillas are much better and the salsa is off tha chain! Take cash ya'll because they're old school and dont take credit cards. There was a fine asss waitress with curly hair at Taco Taco. She can help me out anytime!

After hearing about this restaurant from friends, we drove there and waited at least thirty minutes for a table. We were told to anticipate the wait, so it was not a big problem. Once we sat down, it took over ten minutes to get a menu. After ordering, it took twenty minutes for half of us to get our food and another twenty for the rest of the group to get their food.
The food -- the tortillas were soggy, and the filling was bordering on tasteless. We asked for some Tabasco sauce, and our waitress acted as if we were crazy. All she brought was more salsa. In addition to the tortillas, our refried beans were gummy -- worse than anything out of a can.
We will definitely not return to this restaurant.

After hearing about Taco Taco Cafe on the Food Network, we had to take a drive from the Stone Oak area to visit this local eatery. After waiting for 30 minutes in the heat and being rudely ushered to our seats, I found a sugar packet wrapper in my coffee and flies were everywhere you looked. We found the salsa to be grossly under seasoned and the Taco Norteno to be nothing more than an extra large fajita taco. This small cafe could use a huge renovation/expansion as well as a visit from the health inspector. The tortillas would be my only noteworthy observation at Taco Taco, but if I?m going to make that far of a drive it will be to Lisa?s Mexican Restaurant on Bandera which serves far better food in a nice clean environment.
