@Trevorsmom, On Ash Wednesday, SRL has a new Mass every 30 minutes. It's a large parish (over 3K families), and that is one VERY busy day. To keep it orderly, and operating smoothly, they close the doors in the narthex at the beginning of the Mass. At the end, people exit through the side doors, while the faithful gather in the narthex for the next Mass. It's a simple flow in order to keep things moving smoothly. I'm sorry that you were inconvenienced, and I hope that you come back again.
SRL is a great parish, with a warm, friendly feeling. When we moved into the area, it just felt like home as soon as we walked in.
was attending a beautiful service in chapel Divine Mercy Chaplet sung together then mass...in adoaration felt compelled and moved to kneel to receive communion but when I did..father shook his head "NO", pulled my arm up and said to "DO NOT EVER DO THAT AGAIN, I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO RECEIVE COMMUNION AGAIN." felt ashamed, embarrassed, and angry. haven't been to mass there since then..Very disappointmented. had been a Roman catholic all my life. married in catholic church, have all sacraments, I know my catechism. this is wrong.

On Ash Wednesday, they close the door on you if you are late. My whole family was in mass and we were waiting for my sister. When she got there she was told she had to wait for the next mass. I explain to them, that she drove across town to be here with us. The women did not care, I then tried to open the door for her and the women stood in front of it. There were plenty of seats, but they still would not let her in. There were people standing at the doors, like guards so you could not come in. I have never heard of a Church closing the door on it's people.
