The food was great, the waiter was awesome, the band was very talented, the people were dancing, the ambiance was absolutely delightful, it was clean, pleasant and they even gave us a free dessert when I mentioned it was my wife's birthday... Needless to say - we had a great time and we'll definitely come back.

I have always enjoyed Silo in Alamo Heights so thought I'd try the 1604 location because it's near my house.
Sunday night, my anniversary, no problem getting in and we were offered our choice of tables. The first one had crumbs on the chairs, the second had crumbs on the chairs, food on the floor underneath and holes in the tablecloth; not a great start.
We asked the waiter who brought the water for lemon but didn't get it and had to ask our waiter when he showed up. (In the mean time we notice a nearby table was offered a try of sliced lemons, limes, and oranges for their water.)
We ordered and got our food in a timely manner. (Did I mention how expensive everything is, $19-46 for entrees, salads $8-14 and wine $32 on up by the bottle.)
Both dishes were VERY bland, Chilean Sea Bass with Soba Noodles and Roasted Chicken with Mashed Potatoes. When I told the waiter that he brought some Buerre Blanc sauce for the fish but it didn't help. He offered to change it out for something else but he said there was nothing with a stronger taste preparation. With less than half eaten I declined and pushed the food away.
He never bothered to call the manager nor did he make any adjustment to the bill.
I don't mind paying for good food but I do mind paying for mediocre food.

The Stone Oak Silo is fancy and great ! My husband and I begin each meal w/ the famous crab spring rolls and the black angus lettuce wraps. Yumee - the dipping sauces are tart, tasty, and unforgettable. Wish I know how to make them.
Very cool bar that lights up in pretty colors w/ a private VIP party room off to the side. It's fun to people watch in there because you catch those just coming into the entry door. Of course, the elevator glides you upstairs to the fantastic restaraunt. Pretty hostess, waiters, and I like seeing the kitchen area. Nice but comfortable setting.
This week we ordered the Surf and Turf which was incredible. Great wine selection - My husband enjoys the spiced duck and chilean sea bass on the menu. I am dying to try the chicken fried oysters. If the apps. and main course don't fill you up - tackle some of their great dessert. Melt in your mouth.
I haven't been to their brunch yet but did go for lunch and was suprised at the reasonable prices. The salads at Silo are huge and fresh. The tea is even good.
They have one of the better deals in Stone Oak w/ $5 on apps. during the week. I am getting hungry so you might see me there in a bit ! So happy Silo has made it's way into Stone Oak. I take clients and family there every chance I get. We needed a classy place w/ friendly people and Silo hits the target. Enjoiy !

My husband took me to Silo for our Anniversary. We had a great time, the food was over the top and the service was excellent!! Everything exceeded my expectations. We had a crabcake appetizer, the crab meat was huge...I also had their Lobster Tail special, and their warm chocolate cake for dessert, everything was perfect. The food plus the great wine our server suggested, made a perfect night for our 15th Anniversary!!!
We had a night cap in their bar and listened to their live music, to end our night...at Silo.

We have visited Silo off 1604 and the location off Austin Highway... both were fabulous! The servers were well versed on the menu, wines, and were funny and curteous to boot. That was just the service... the food was even better. We had a number of things on the menu, and all of them were tasty. You have to try the crab cake, every salad we've tried (4 and counting) was phenomenal, as was the pork with mac and cheese, and the rib eye. But you must MUST try the souffle!!! I don't write raving reviews, unless they're deserved. Enjoy!

We recently dined at Silo 1604. The spring rolls and crab cakes were to die for! We were pampered like royalty and impressed by the beauty and elegance of the atmosphere. Service impeccable, food equisite and atosphere divine. It is a great experience everyone should indulge in.

Actually, the place doesn't deserve even one star. The only memorable part of the meal was the wine, and they had nothing to do with that - thank goodness. The waiter was inexperienced and spoke poor english - that may have been a part of the problem. The food that was initially delivered to the table had nothing to do with what had been ordered. When the correct orders finally arrived they were literally cool and/or cold. A request to have the food re-heated brought a head waiter to inquire as to the problem - food got colder. Upon discovering the problem, waiters were changed - colder and colder. The new waiter apparently forgot that we existed so we asked for our bill to pay for the wine when the manager appeared. You might think he was there to apologise - nope, wanted us to pay for food that wasn't even on the table. Nice . . . real nice. Anyone who patronizes this joke of a restaurant does so at their own risk.

Exemplary Food & Service! What great attention to detail by the chef and his staff. My prime ribeye steak was of the quality found in a high end chophouse without the ala carte sides and prices. My wife had their fish special of Hawaiian snapper with a crab meat topping, so good she would not share. Guess I will just have to return.
Having enjoyed the Austin Hwy venue, I decided to take my father and the family to brunch at the new 1604 Silo location -- BIG mistake. Food was just as terrific as the Austin Hwy location, when we could get a hold of the waiter to get any! Literally, it was 30 minutes from getting the menu to ordering. We were never once asked to have drinks refilled -- had to get up, find the waiter, and ask for bread. I emailed the owner, who apologized, and offered to send me a coupon to retry. That was nice, but never heard from him again, despite re-emailing and calling. Basta! Enough of Silo -- don't recommend spending the $$ there. That was a $250 brunch for 5!
