Pleased with the care they gave my dog, but the doctor claimed that they charge cost for rattlesnake antivenin at $1,100.00/vial. He stated, without any prompting, (while going over the estimate)- "We charge cost for the antivenin. We charge you what we pay. We don't make any money on it. The mark up on the human side is even worse, like $54,000." We thought that sounded very honorable, but later found out that is more than 300% mark up, meaning they made back at least three times what they paid for it. Another emergency hospital would have charged $450 per vial which I would consider a reasonable mark up (for emergency care) of about 75%. No animal clinic in our area could afford to keep multiple $1,100 vials onsite. Total bill was $2,000, and they pressured us to return the next day- never giving us the option to have him rechecked by our (fully capable) regular veterinarian- as most emergency clinics usually do. My pet is worth it, but I will never return or recommend them specifically because he willfully made such an untruthful claim in order to gain our trust.
I've had several experiences with Perrin-410. The most recent I will base my rating on. Our regular vet wasn't due in for a few hours so being that it was an emergency our office directed us to Perrin. They got us in an exam room quickly. We thought our dog was poisoned so I would have appreciated seeing the vet immediately however the first thing was the tech came to ask the problem and then we went to go take blood samples and stool samples. I felt the the first thing should have been temp. They wanted to take my pup to the "back" to take blood and stool samples. That could have been done in the exam room IMO. Whatever, I'm not leaving my dog with any vet or tech I don't know so I went along. Anyway, the vet didn't seem my being there but oh well too bad-they should understand. After running the tests which took some time, the tech came and showed us a tallied bill before the vet would come in. After another amount of time, the vet Dr. Ramsey showed up. He seemed OK. He didn't speculate much other that what we had already surmised but of course as a pet owner we want answers and he really didn't have any. That is extremely frustrating. He did give us the option to go to my regular vet to get treatment. If that was an option I would have already gone but anyway, I went to go square things up with the front desk while my pup was getting a couple of shots of medicine and I asked the receptionist would I be getting medications to take home. The tech came back and said yes the vet wanted us to get some "if we could". No wonder! It really jacked up the bill. One thing I will tell you about Perrin-410, they are available, they have everything there; vets, lab equipment, medicine etc, and they have people who know their stuff. Another thing I will tell you is that you won't get out of there without spending $800-$1200. If you love your pets like children, take them to Perrin-410.
I was able to call same day and get an immediate appt for a wellness checkup for my cat, was checked in within 5 mins and done within 45. Everything was quick and efficient. The only issue I had was I signed up for the rewards program but was not told the cost of it prior to signing up. If it pays for itself then I'll be ok with it , if not then it should be something that's explained prior to charging my card....
A friend of mine had a minor emergency one morning so we headed to this local animal hospital. The receptionist was pleasant and very propmpt with my friends concerns. Although I must say the technician that took us back to the exam room could use a lesson in etiquette. Her personality was quite bland and I could genuinely tell she either didn't want to be thier or just didn't like her job. I don't recall her name (long brown hair) but the doctor that tended to my friends pet was awesome. He kept us up to speed as far as what we were going to spend and needed to be done. Spent about an hour their which isn't bad at all compared to visiting a human emergency room. Everything considered I think I would come back with my own pet, thanks for everything!

Brought my cat to this clinic for treatment because of it being close to my home. Turned out to be a complicated case that fortunately the drs here have handled with professionalism and kindness. They cover all their bases with the knowledge you would expect a vet to have in conjunction with the latest technology at their disposal.

Our 9 year old companion starting having heavy nose bleeds which had caused him to black out and hit the concrete pretty hard. It was late in the evening so we took him to this place for urgent assistance. When we first arrived they were quick to respond, however, when they took our friend to the back (without us) we automatically felt left in the dark which increased the panic feeling that we were experiencing. After waiting several minutes we were then asked to the back to met the vet. After he questioned us on what was going on, even though it was quite obvious that blood was constantly dripping down from his nose, he proceeded to say that he had no idea what it could be without running several tests that would be around $300-$500. Then asked us how we would be paying. Unfortunately we only had $100 and were willingly to set up payment arrangements or give a post dated check for the remaining balance. We were then told that they could not provide services if we could not come up with that amount 'up front'. Due to our financial hardship our beloved animal was not able to have services rendered at that instant. All we could do was ask for our dog back and wait for the morning to see if another place would have the heart to help him and honor our promises to pay. So then we were told that we owed $50 for an office visit and would have to pay before we could have him back. After refusing to pay for a service that we did not even witness being rendered the vet tech said he was going to call the police to report 'theft of services'. We felt that we were being taken advantage of so we informed him to do so if that was the way they wanted to handle it. So then after making us wait again, he then came out with our pup and said we were free to go. I must say that this place is worthless to animals in urgent care needs and insensitive to any person whom is experiencing a financial hardship. It's the principal of the matter that our pet needed urgent assistance and was turned away because of monetary value. My advice would be to not go to this place if you really love your pet. \nOn the other hand, I would definitely recommend Texas Veterinary Hospital (TVH) on Thousand Oaks. They were true angels who listened and helped. We felt the compassion they had for animals and they even helped us with a plan of action on treatment that we could afford. They even discounted a couple of medication injections to help him with the bleeding AND waived the new patient exam. Their staff was very professional and informative, in fact their vet tech new a lot more than this moron who threatened to call the police on us. \n\n
I have used this hospital numerous times and have had the best servcie and care EVERY time! The staff is attentive and friendly and the Vets are awesome! The hours are accomodating for my schedule and the prices are reasonable for shots as well as other services. I will continue to use Perrin-410 Animal Hospital as long as I have pets!

I had to access this website because I forgot the office phone number and I was shocked to read some of the reviews! I've been going to Perrin 410 Animal Hospital for over 3 years and have never experienced a problem. Yes, there have been times when I've waited longer than I wanted to, but I see pet owners going in and out of the examining area in tears, t's obvious the staff is tending to a pet in a very serious condition. Would I want my pet to have that type of attention if criical? YES! Unfortunately, satisfied customers are not as quick to compliment as an unsatisfied customer is to complain. While I agree that valid complaints can be very useful, many times it is personal and is not fairly presented. I was just there this morning, cost was reasonable and service was excellent! I just wanted to express my gratitude to the Vets, CVAs, Receptionists, and any other staff that we don't get to see. Thank you Perrin-410 Animal Hospital for the service you provide. I appreciate it and my dog (Smokey) does too!

I've read the negative reviews, and I don't understand how they could think the desk staff and others are rude. Everyone has been most kind and helpful, and we've been in a lot since adopting a dog from the pound who came with kennel cough and Frontline-resistant fleas, and who they diagnosed several weeks later (after extensive lab tests) with distemper. Distemper is often fatal, but Dr. Rocky pulled our dog through with good care and a 2-week round of immune-enhancing shots (1 every 3 days). Yes, they're very expensive, and yes, they did tests that had been done at the pound (but they pointed out that sometimes the pound's results aren't correct), and yes they do tack on fees that are unexpected, but the fact remains that we now have a healthy, happy dog who probably would have died without their excellent care. Two days after we got our dog from the pound, we were in doubt that she would survive another 24 hours and we couldn't get ahold of our previous vet. This clinic was recommended by a friend who is a vet who used to work there since they were nearby and open until 11 p.m. everyday and she knew that they did truly care about animals and were quite good. She was right!

I had been in the past and didn't have any problems before. I even had my Mom take her cat there in one emergency situation.\n\nWell, I had taken my cat in last week because I was very worried about her. I had written down everything I observed and already tried and handed it to the receptionist when we arrived. She was in the files so we waited and eventually went back to the examining room finally.\n\nEverything went fine and I was talking about the price of gas and of course that I wanted to get out of there paying as little as possible.\n\nThe first estimate that Dr. Bermes brought me was way too much. I said we need to take off 1 or 2 items if possible and she asked me if funds were limited. I'm thinking, ""Is she Sherlock?"" ""Du yes I just said we needed to take items off the estimate."" Anyway she did take 2 items off for me, that was good.\n\nI got out of there with med put in my cats ear thinking the problem would be taken care of (for $116 which was going to start out as @ $340 wo horsey).\n\nSo next week I bring her in for the follow up and she wants to run a test, says the med did not work and I was like, ""No I am not paying out anymore money.""\nSo I left and then I was called the next day and the receptionist left a message that said I had owed @$26 for the follow up.\n\nI called back and said that no one told me to begin with that there was going to be a charge for a follow up appt, I had never heard of being charged for a follow up appt, and that I was going to pay it, but I won't go there again.\n\nIn my opinion if you are rich and you like helping inexperienced Veterinarians learn what the more experienced ones already know like how not to run several tests and charge outrageous prices when it is unnecessary then take your pet there.\n

Dr. Bermes is wonderful!!!\nBeen a customer for about 3 yrs with 3 dogs & 1 cat.\nI have always felt that she really cares about my animals and listens to what I am saying B4 talking.\nI really like the receptionists help when I call in with a question; instead of saying bring your animal in and \nsee the doctor, they often know the answer or say wait\na minute and consult a doctor and then tell me what I \ncan do without taking the time of having to bring the animal in and go through the office visit routine.\nThe 7:00am to 11:00pm hours are great too.\nREMEMBER this is an emergency vet clinic so sometimes while you are there an emergency case is admitted and their is a longer wait. I didn't mind waiting while they rushed to save a dog's life hit by a truck.

I brought my kitten in with a broken leg to this hospital. Not only did I wait almost 45 mins while my cat was in pain and some of you were chit-chatting with each other outside our waiting room (with only a handful of others to wait on), but the results were devestating. \n\nYou told me my cat's fractured leg would require surgery of almost $2,000.00. Or, I could have his leg amputated for a lower cost. On the sheet of paper you handed me, you said surgery would be needed to correct many of his issues. Funny, because I got a second opinion. Not only did they laugh at the idea of amputation, but they said surgery would possibly cause more issues.\n\nOne month and only $170 later plus a free visit at my main vet, my cat is walking normally again after wearing only a splint. Which, by the way - the second vet had to replace.\n\nBut what I find outstanding is this...When I brought my cat back to your clinic (because of his immense pain) to stay overnight (you almost wouldn't take him). On top of it all, one of your staff members called me (20 mins after I arrived home after an exhausting night) to request I come back because I forgot to bring my cat's pain killers and leave them with you! Then informed me you would need to charge me if I didn't come back. You also charged me AGAIN to replace the cast YOU put on my cat's leg because it was not secure the first time! Are you serious? You're an animal emergency vet and you couldn't spare one vile of pain killer after I dished out hundreds for the visit or replaced a cast that was poorly put on in the first place? And on top of everything, you charged me for an additional set of shots my cat already had...you said it was just procedure...but this was after you already handled my animal.\n\nshame on you. at least pretend you care about your profession.
I have taken my pets to this clinic several times and have always found them to be very professional and up to par in every aspect of their work. Most recently, I took my cat in for declawing and neutering and had no problems whatsoever with the service. \n\nIt surprises me to see so many negative reviews, and that most of these are mispelled and badly phrased. Do these traits go hand in hand? I think so. Just because they can't pay for treatment makes it the doctor's fault? Please, disregard their ignorant statements.\n\nNo problems with Perrin-410 on my part. I strongly recommend them to anybody in need of veterinary assistance. 5/5 stars.

I LOVE this clinic. I feel the doctors and staff at this clinic go above and beyond unlike other clinics I have been to. The seem to truely care about my pets and that makes me feel comfortable with them. The are always friendly and welcoming. I wouldn't go anywhere else for vet care.
