Dr. Rao’s passion for treating cancer patients can be felt the moment you first meet her. She lost several of her family members to cancer when she was young and its a personal mission for her to try to help her patients with cancer in every way possible . Dr. Rao is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology & Hematology. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Easton Hospital in Pennsylvania and her fellowship at the CTRC, University of Texas, San Antonio. Dr. Rao treats all malignancies but has a special interest in breast, lung, and gastrointestinal malignancies. She has dedicated innumerable hours to the creation of a multi-disciplinary treatment team in each of these disciplines, giving her patients the best treatment possible in cancer care. She was also instrumental in the development of financial assistance programs and support groups at Oncology San Antonio. Dr. Rao and her husband support many charities and educational programs internationally
