We had this company come out to perform a static test but when they got their they said they needed access to a clean out it needed to install one. With lack of time or even a heads up we couldn't locate it for the plumber. When I spoke to them the same morning to schedule they never mentioned or gave me a heads up that they would be needing to locate the clean out. It almost seems as if they purposely knew not to disclose that. I explained to the plumber that I wasn't aware of what a clean out was and that's why I hired him to do the job. He simply disregarded and insisted that we still had to pay him for the service call. It was a quick way for them to make 75.00 in less than 30 minutes of time. Next time I know when I ask for a static test that we need to know where the clean out is. It's just unfortunate that we learned about this by paying for a service we never got.
Gave a bid of minimum and maximum. Spent two half days doing the plumbing and called it two full days (on Friday said he was going to the coast). Also told me he had to buy a new tool just for this. Guess that's why they were late on Monday. Job seems to be done properly. It would be better not to give the impression of the low end of the bid and then bill the high-end.
upon starting a job the customer is given a written quote in this case this was a job that had been started by a different company and had done a poor job. Not knowing of what this tile contractor had done to the plumbing under the slab we explained to the customer that we could not give them an exact quote but would give them a min and a max it all depend on how much concrete we had to break to get to the plumbing and what drains needed replace. The customer was advice after the second day breaking concrete to count on the estimate on being the max that was quoted on the contract. all efforts were made in order to keep the cost down ,but the drian being done by an unlincenceed plumber had to totally be redone which added to the cost of the job. Quite a few times a month we receive calls from customers who have been done wrong by an unlicenced plumber that in turn makes it hard to give the customer an exact quote on not knowing what that other guy did prior. That is when we explain to the customer of the situation that we could give them a min to max quote.I'am sorry if my customer feel they were misled as far as price. We feel that the amount charge was justified by the work done.this time it was professionally done right
