The Estates of Northwoods

Over the past couple years there have been a ton of vehicle burglaries here. Management has never bothered to hire any kind of security. All they ever do is report it to the police and put out reward notices. I'm afraid for my family's safety, and we will be moving ASAP.

Ugh! After living here for a year, I can honestly say I wish we had taken our time looking. To say the least, the remotes for the gates wouldn't work, and the office staff wouldn't exchange them, however, that wasn't really a problem because the gates didn't work either and they were open most of the time. We even had a couple of break ins to the cars in the parking lot. However, the worse part, were the over charges upon moving out. We received a statement with $400 in charges we were not responsible for, which we are disputing, but so far they are not responding. Not fair!!

Since the day that we moved in we have had issues with management & staff. I've never felt like this before I have been treated like a piece of trash that doesn't deserve a decent treatment specially since I pay a sufficient amount of money (which you will think that should be sufficient for one to be treated like a worthy human being).Every time I call the office for any reason you get a tone from the person of the other side, anything I say I are always wrong, I also been yelled at for no reason, every time I ask for something from an email address to a maintenance issue you get a "sight" from the person answering the phone. The staff along with the manager are extremely arrogant.

The STAFF is never wrong, the tenant that pays on time ALWAYS is.

There are better places in the area for the same amount of money that you will pay at this horrible place.

There is no close parking. For one building w/ 8 apartments, there were 7 parking spaces available, 4 that are for very small compact cars. My car was dented so many times by other vehicles b/c there is no space. The maintenance was good b/c I had met a couple of the workers and would present my problems to them. If I went to management about any issues the first response would always be defensive.They will nickle and dime you for anything. My husband's gate opener stopped working a couple months after we moved in they wanted to charge him $5 dollars for a battery we bought in a pack of 2 for $2. I could understand if we had gotten it w/ a new battery but goodness! That is pretty much where I figured out we were going to have issues. They'll raise the price of garbage disposal and water when ever they feel like it and when you move out charge double. I must say that when work was done, the clean up was on me! Therefore, I did not ask for work to be done unless it was an emergency or I had a few problems that needed fixing. I would also like to add, do not expect to recieve your deposit back. Be very mindful of every crack, stain and dent in walls, flooring and cabinetry when moving in b/c they will gig you on it when you move out, whether it was there or not! I must say that I felt very safe living at these apartments but I still think that they charge way too much for the space you get. The walls are built pretty thick, I didn't get too much outside noise, maybe a little squeaking from the neighbors walking upstairs. I didn't read up on apartment reviews until after I signed. I sure wish I had! I found out after the fact that management sucked and parking was a joke. I'm just glad that I only signed for a year. Never will I go back to an apartment. It was my first time and most likely my last! Definitely treated poorly after signing the lease.
