Below buffet quality pizza/food.

I went there the past weekend and was really disappointed. Not sure where all this hype comes from but if you want to waste paying ridiculous amount for your food then go there. My pizza was very dry, small and slightly burned and I can get a better pie from CiCi's and my wife's pasta entree was disappointing and very small. The serving size is a joke and I will definitely not being going there again. As I left, I made sure to look at everybody's entree and they all were very small. So it wasn't just me. Our tab ended up being around $50!

A Favorite

This is absolutely one of the best restaurants in San Antonio. The food is always exceptional with a great choice of specials every night. The price is good and staff is friendly. Also check out Bistro Vitel and Le Frite. All in the same group, all wonderful.

good and simple

I haven't been here in a long time (I moved a few months back), so I can't say much about the prices. I remember it being really simple straightforward food that was served in a NORMAL portion...that is smaller that most restaurants, but enough to be satisfied...unless u are really really hungry. It's a nice little place, and the people are very easy-going and friendly. My favorite dish was the seared tuna. It's usually a special, and I get really dissappointed when they don't have it. It is served with a fettucini pasta with a light garlic butter sauce with capers. Good stuff

Bring your paycheck

A friend and I came for lunch at approx 11:30 am only to find the door locked and the closed sign showing. Oddly, as soon as we were about to pull away a man came and unlocked the door and turned the open sign forward. We should've gone to Subway. We were seated very quickly, as we were the only guests for lunch. We received our water quickly as well. The atmosphere reminded me of a very bland Italy. The menu had 4 price categories; Pricey, Expensive, Very expensive, Ridiculously expensive. I thought when I ordered a $12 cheese sandwhich I would get the best sandwich ever concocted. I received a regular cheese sandwich on hard on the jaw chewy bread and a little bit of romaine lettuce. When my friend ordered the mussle soup she thought she ordered soup, not a bowl of chili powder which caused her to gag with every bite. I had eaten at Ciao before and enjoyed the atmosphere and food, but since they raised the prices, I doubt we'll be back. I don't think I've ever spent almost $40 on lunch for two before.

As a former San Antonionan I would eat here at least once a week. Now i Have to go by whenever I am in town. I have not been able to find a italian restaurant with this kind of menu anywhere. There specials change daily which I love. I recommend the mussels, getting the bread. I have only been disappointed once when I got a pizza to go that was burned on the bottom.

Best Italian in San Antonio!

Another ""jewel"" from Chef Damien Watel. By far the best Italian I ate while in San Antonio. Great service & great casual decor as well...
