Cavender sells ""Certified"" vehicles which have been wrecked and they seem to be fine with it once the truth has been discovered.
Beware of the marketing and other ploys which put you at ease and make you think they are working in your best interest.
Do not assume that what you are buying is what you paid for. Our experience, as well as many others, is that they were less than truthful.
Our experience is that ""Certified"" means absolutely nothing. Sure, there was an ""inspection"", but one would think the inspection could fine a wreck with almost $3000 in damage - especially when the damage was ""repaired"" at the Cavender body shop.
To make matters worse, we spoke to a Cavender family member after several weeks of letters and emails and he was Condesending with his ""explaination"" of how they ""did not know"" and how it was not a big deal. You are waisting your time even when you receive the lip service, if you get to talk to anyone at all.
Be very aware and very suspect. Do not trust what you hear and get everything in writing. Ask the hard questions even when you think a ""Certified"" vehicle is above normal.

My wife and I drove five hours from Midland TX to this specific dealer just for a service on our Audi A4. We needed an oil change, spark plug change, a check engine light reset and a diagnostic for a minor engine problem. I am a mechanic, and discussed my suspicions/concerns about the engine with the representative, and work was done quickly, and at half of the expected cost.
What surprised me was the openness and absence of “attitude” at this dealership. The representative took notes on what I thought was wrong and did not attempt to brush off my opinions as irrelevant (something I have run into at many other places). I got to meet, and speak to the mechanic who actually worked on the car, a rarity these days. He was very professional, and obviously knew the car inside and out.
Diagnostics showed that the engine problem was different than I thought, and would be inexpensive to return to top shape. They made no attempt to do work that was unneeded, or unwanted. I really appreciated their honesty. They even washed our car before releasing it.
While waiting, Mr. Cavender came out of his office and introduced himself and welcomed us to “the Audi family”. He was very polite and personal.
I am pleased to give this dealership a maximum rating. They performed excellently in all manners. I’ve never left a lot feeling better taken care of, even though we basically came in for a minor problem with a car we didn’t purchase there. I’ll definitely be returning for future work, and probably my next auto.
