Established in 1943, Baptist Child & Family Services is a nonprofit social welfare organization that provides a range of residential, emergency medical care and transitional housing services for underprivileged individuals. It serves people throughout Texas, as well as Africa, Europe, Latin America and southeastern Asia. Baptist Child & Family Services offers assisted living, vocational training and mental health care services for emotionally disturbed children and special-needs adults and families. It also provides adoption, disaster management, and prenatal and foster care services. The organization offers parenting training, psychological assessment, and individual, family and group counseling services. Additionally, it organizes an after-school program that promotes positive character development, healthy decision making, and leadership qualities through a variety of enrichment activities for middle school youths.
