Angies----.com published our company as the number 1-rated contractor for this industry in San Antonio in 2012.
Abelia Sprinkler Repairs is targeting the customer who desires excellent service at a fair price, and doesn't mind paying a little more for the job to be done right the first time. We offer at least a 2-year Parts & Labor Warranty on most replacement parts. Since our pricing is not in the lower end of the sprinkler repair industry, we do not offer free estimates. Ballpark estimates are usually provided within the first hour of service, if customers agree to our minimum labor charge (which covers the first hour) and our subsequent hourly rates.

Abelia Sprinkler Repairs specializes in sprinkler system repairs, irrigation coverage improvements, drip irrigation, water pressure problems, valve locating and wire tracking, controller & electrical diagnostics. We do system modifications and upgrades, such as converting a zone to drip irrigation or adding a new zone, but we generally do NOT do complete system installations.

Based on the reviews here, I engaged David to repair several issues with my sprinkler system. He was thorough and professional, and kept me apprised of the status of the repairs throughout. David gives a two-year guarantee on his work, which is a whole lot better than the usual 90 days most places give. I recommend him.
If you want the BEST in sprinkler system repair and maintenance, call David at Abelia Sprinklers. I have used Abelia for about 10 years and no job is too small or too big. David gives professional service while being friendly and caring; and he was also to create unique sprinkler configurations after I had new garden beds installed in my yard. I will always call David at 210-414-1099 for all my sprinkler system needs.
Dependable, affordable, and gets it right! David is a one-guy business so you are dealing with the owner-operator. He shows on time, assesses your issues, gives you a price that stands, and performs the work. He has serviced my system annually and as needs arose for7 years. Everyone I have recommended him to over the years has been equally pleased with his work.
David was so caring, conscientious, hardworking, and careful about his work. He provided a quote before any work was done that was in line with our final bill, and he did work that has withstood the test of time (at least 6 months so far). We will call him again in the future if any situation arises, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I get "happy feet" every time I turn on my sprinkler system now. I have a very "home made" sprinkler system that had several ill-functioning and one very broken sprinkler heads. My first concern is that no one would want to touch this system and then they would insist on just building a new one. David was very accommodating, he made suggestions to improve my system without pushing me to extend my budget. He added an additional line and replaced several sprinkler heads. I believe his pricing was comparable to other professional providers, but in actuality was probably better since he basically reworked my entire system.
The best compliment I can give David is my repeat business. I used him in the past and was impressed by his work ethic. His philosophy is to treat every sprinkler system as if it was his own, and it shows in the finished product. He's very easy to work with. He is prompt, explains the repair to be done, his prices are fair, he works fast, and gives a two year warranty on newly installed parts and replacement cost . Why would I use anyone else?
Disappointed. I had a leak in my old system and won a silent auction certificate for an hour of service thinking we could use this guy to get it fixed. He didn't keep his original appointment time, said I had the time wrong and it was for the following week. On that day he showed up early so I could only speak to him by phone. He apparently cannot work on old systems and does not know where to find the parts. Says at his hourly rates it would cost a lot to have him just find the parts. His suggestion was for us to get a brand new system. REALLY?? I should have guessed. Thought he was just going to cap off the leaks by the street after I had my brother speak to him over the phone but turns out his solution was to cap off all of our sprinkler water supply to our front yard. Told my son it would be hard to find the pipes to cap in the front and reasoned that the leaks were due to a leaky valve system. However there was no investigation to verify this . Now the only nice lawn we have cannot be watered except by hand. Should have known that this would be a waste of my money...We have a new problem to solve and we won't be asking this guy to come back!
Frankly I was quite surprised by this review, which contains several inaccuracies and false accusations. Things did start off poorly with the customer's appointment misunderstanding ... I can only say that I did honor the original date that I had listed on my calendar and communicated to her. She told me that she would not be home at all that day, and that I would be dealing with her teenage son. So I didn't see a problem with showing up early after confirming that her son was home. I understand this customer's frustration at not being able to fully understand the technical implications of the few options we were facing. However, my reputation for honesty and experience on AngiesList.com has so far generated more than 40 reviews of all 5 stars (no reviews less than 5 stars), and AngiesList rated me as their number one sprinkler repair contractor for this region in 2012. She had a very old system with three manual brass valves that were glued together as a set that could not be easily separated (Tee fittings connected directly side-by-side). I explained that the leak was not at the street, as she thought, but that one valve was leaking and allowing water to run out of the heads at the street. The options were to either replace the 3 valves, or cap off the water source at the valves for now to stop the leak so at least the back yard valves could still be used. These 1970s-era valves do not have parts readily available, so I suggested that although it might be possible to find washers or other parts eventually, it would be costly at my usual rates to try to track down parts. A third option could be to tear out the 3 valves, replace only one of them, and then reinstall the other 2, but the expense of that project would not have been advisable considering the age and likely poor condition of the other two valves. I explained all the options to her brother by telephone, at her suggestion, since he was very familiar with the system and had maintained it himself a few times. He completely agreed with the suggestion of capping off the old 3 valves in the front, and convinced this customer (his sister) that it was the right choice since she did not have a budget to replace the valves. I suggested that an entirely new system might be a better long-term investment, even though I do NOT install new systems (this was not any self-serving suggestion on my part since I only do repairs). With the customer's agreement, as well as her brother's, I did what they asked me to do and capped off the valves to at least stop the leaking for now. Because she was a mom on an obviously tight budget, I did not charge any extra even though my time on-site went a full half hour beyond the one-hour silent auction certificate. The terms were only for the labor, not the parts and materials, but again I did not charge her anything for the materials. I felt that I did the best I could for her, considering the very poor condition of the system.
I just used Abelia Sprinkler Repair for the second time. The first time was 3 years ago to completely redo the sprinkler system after I bought my house. This time for a minor repair. Both times I received fantastic service. Was there when he said he would be. Was extremely competent. Kept me informed at all times. Very friendly. Very fair pricing - well worth the cost. Can't say enough. It would be so nice if all businesses were like this one!!!!!!
Very professional: Came on time ... Quickly identified the problems and helped me understand the issues and cost options ... Did great work at reasonable cost to restore our antiquated sprinkler system. His 1-year guarantee on sprinkler repair parts AND labor is hard to beat.
