Was charged wrong. Ok no problem, WRONG! Waitress was rude snatched receipt out my hand. When asked for her name, said no, it was personal. When asked for owner/managers number she said NO. I told her I'm not going to sign until the error was corrected, she called the cook, who politely came out…

I first went to the restaurant for lunch some time ago last summer with a co-worker that really loved the enchiladas here. Back then I didn't go for the enchiladas, which looked and smelled good, but instead I tried their chicken soup and the traditional puffy taco. One thing about puffy tacos i…
I'm a regular customer, but I won't be any longer. The service was very poor and the attitude was very unprofessional. The food was not quite up to it's usual quality. The waitresses all assume that everyone speaks and understands Spanish. There are so many other places to dine.
If you are looking for authentic Puerto Rican food, this is not the restaurant for you!! I am Puerto Rican, raised in Chicago. Their Jibarito had roast pork on it, they would not make it with steak. Their accapurias were horrible and they charged $2.50 for one. In NY or Chicago one is $.75. Their prices are way too high! These are simple dishes they are serving. The rice had little flavor I could tell they didn't use sofrito an they used little sazon. The ropa vieja was average. The cooks are Mexican. Not to say Mexicans can't cook good PR'n food but generally we season food diferently. I wouldn't get asada tacos from a restaurant that is advertised as a Puerto Rican Restaurant, hopefully you get the point! Don't go there with high expectations, especially if you are familiar with PR'n cuisine.
The staff is friendly and the food is ok at best. I hate that when I order a bean n cheese to go for my son he won't eat it and when I try eating it for it not to go to waste I understand why. The beans are dry scrapes off the pan with some cheese sprinkled on it. Tortillas always look burned. I don't know if the place is clean but from the small tiny drive thru window it doesn't seem to be a clean kitchen.
This is THE very best Madre y Padre Mexican Food Restaurant of San Antonio. True, if you want good food and all the colorful pottery, birds squawking in your ears and a bunch of yankee gringas telling you how to order good food on the riverwalk, go there. But, if you want GREAT food at a nice price, come here. Tell Oscar Sr. and Mama Dora the Pickett s sent you!!
My family and I went to Casa Linda Mexican Restaurant today to pick up breakfast. The owner was there and greeted my husband with a hand shake. This is a cute little place. The food was so delicious and the price wasn't bad either. I would recommend this place. I cant wait to go back and try some lunch/dinner :-) They've made a regular customer out of us.
If you want good food for a reasonable prices this is the perfect place. It's very nice inside. Always smells great. I've never had a problem with the service there. They always have specials. M-F always have a morning special til 1130 am of 3 mix or match tacos for 2.39! Homemade tortillas, awesome coffee, etc!
I enjoyed a breakfast today of huevos rancheros & coffee for $3.99, but it was too much food! It was very tasty! This was their 2nd day of business & the staff did very well. I think next time I'll try their pineapple/kale/ginger health juice!
I live for El Tipico. My husband and I are from San Antonio but live about 400 miles away now. Every time we come to visit, we make a point to eat at El Tipico. I LOVE the homemade tortillas and the salsa is so very yummy. Keep it up!
Love this place! It's got great food and service, everything we've had there is yummy! Especially love the queso! Please put up an online menu and stay open through the evening ! That's a suggestion many of us have!!! --Jen
The cheese enchiladas and rice were ok. The borracho beans tasted fine but were a little firm. The salsa and the corn tortillas were very good. Staff was friendly. Pricing was average. No free tortilla chips.
