It's hard to find a better business that takes care of it's customers, than Montoya machine shop. Excellent customer service beyond and above the call of duty. Can't say enough good words. Highly recommend.

Had a 460 built ,it's bullet proof! Great staff very knowledgeable and best of all it was finished on time
After explaining to the owner how important it was to get a shaft threaded for a go-kart I was building I was told it would be thru after lunch when I return for the part just a couple of hours later the shop was closed for the weekend I would never recommend this business to anyone.
Dont waste your time on this guy Hes unprofessional and rude . do yourself a favor and call charlies small engine ( google or craigslist ) he will get you done right .
I bought a VW from George's that was supposed to take two weeks to get ready while the "engine was rebuilt". It wound up taking almost two months. The engine died on the way home. After he supposedly fixed it, it still kept stalling and not idling. When I complained he told me that the car was sold with no guarantees and to fix it myself. I got less than 1000 miles on the engine before it blew. When I called George he told me that I could pay him to fix it. When I explained how he sold me a car with a new rebuilt engine he told me tough luck (in so many words). After paying a premium price for the car I wasn't about to take it back to George. I wound up taking it to another shop in San Antonio that has a much better reputation. He disassembled the motor and showed me how it had not been rebuilt and in fact was just a worn out motor that George tried to pass off as a rebuild.I have no idea how he has maintained a 5 Star rating. If you don't believe my review please call and talk to the folks in the VW club as well as various local VW auto parts stores. George's Buggy Shop is infamous. On the plus side his sons seem to be nice kids. I had to fix the repairs they made anyhow myself. At least they were well spoken and polite. So is George until you want him to back up his "work".I've owned over 70 air-cooled VWs, managed a large air-cooled VW parts warehouse, and have worked for VW of America. I've never run across, what I consider to be, a bigger crook than George's Buggy Shop.
We recently acquired a 74 Beetle from my father. We found George's shop on the internet and stopped by. We were so impressed with their knowledge and kindness. They stopped what they were doing and answered all our many questions. We decided to let them fully restore our Bug. It was a fun process and in the end our Beetle looked brand new. The work is top quality and our Beetle is a head turner. We couldn't be happier. They have a passion for what they do and it shows in their work.
