We booked thru Hotels.com and thought a three star won't be that bad. We were on a budget this week and I was very sick the day we checked in. We stayed 4 days.Checkin took a bit due to someone telling the hotel guy their life story ( as I was ready to pass out)! But he was prob the owner and was very nice with them and me. I did have my little service animal with me and that was no problem. But he did mention that he DID have a service Animal problem recently with a large hairy dog. I assured him my Yorkie does not shed. So on to our room we went. He gave us first floor easy access with dog and loading our stuff into the room. Now the room was nice and cool cause it was 92 out ! So the ROOM was recently remodeled and verrrry clean. Nice granite walls in shower too. The beds were also newer and very comfy. We got two full beds so I could spread out.. ya know??! Lol. My Ruby also had a great time being stationary!I wandered down around 8:45 for breakfast and not much left! Mmm had some Raisin Bran and a hard boiled egg. They were actually still warm ! Nice! Some Asian lady horded huge amounts of food to her room ( like they haven't eaten in a week!) always awful and they have no shame.Everything was a piece of a drive for food but that was ok. We discovered a Chinese/ Phillipino food place about two miles away. It was MAKAI , very good Lumpia and everything Phillipino.I really wanted to go in the pool but was u see the weather and just too hot! So we would stay here again in a pinch for the budget.
While I've always enjoyed staying at Fairfield Inns, a visit I recently had as a charter coach driver for a group of students to a state science fair in San Antonio was particularly memorable. As I believe all FIs have, this one has complimentary breakfasts. The menu items were typically good…

I stayed at the San Antonio Fairfield Inn. The room (non-smoking) had a bad smell especially if I turned on the light in the bathroom which automatically ran a fan with a bad odor. I had Pantene products on the first night and Breck on subsequent nights. This hotel did not seem like a Marriott p…

This Travelodge is not an upscale place to stay, but for the rate it was fine. I was never in doubt as to the quality of those things that counted. The internet worked well once I figured out my computer configuration issue which was not the fault of the motel's internet. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Above all, the staff (really the owners) were helpful and courteous. The location is a bit tricky to get to if you are coming from the downtown direction going East, so get off I-10 at exit 160 and follow the surface road paralleling the expressway to the first road that goes under the expressway, cross over to the North side and then go back to the motel. Make sure you take the first crossover or you will be tangled up in the I-10/I-410 crossover and have to go through several lights to get going back West. There are tons of places to stay and the Chinese from the delivery place with the flyers at the desk is really good.
After reading the reviews posted for this hotel, I was a bit nervous to stay here. However, I was pleasantly surprised with my stay at this Travelodge. Yes, it is an older hotel an when walking through the hallway you are reminded that this is an older hotel, there were some very positive features. The room I had was large with two beds, a refrigerator, and a microwave. The bathroom was large and had been remodeled not long ago. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The large screen TV was nice with a large selection of channels. A roomy desk for my laptop computer was a welcome plus. The wireless internet service was reliable and met my needs. Finally, the morning breakfast was good and plentiful. My only negative was that there are not many dining options near the hotel so you will need to drive somewhere for dinner each evening. Overall, I give it four out of five stars.
This historic hotel definitely has many up sides (location near the Alamo and Riverwalk shops and plaza attractions). My family stayed here during Spring Break 2011 and we were disappointed with many things: "Mandatory" valet for $18.50 per night, cold powdered eggs for breakfast, small rooms for the $165 per night price. It's partnership with The Menger Hotel across the street allows kids to swim in a heated pool during early spring. This is a fabulous choice during off-season travel, but the staff at the Crockett does not handle capacity season well at all. Slow valet retrieval (30 mins) and terrible breakfast setup and hours (0630-0930) contributed to my review. Bottom Line: a $200 per night stay but below-average service and accommodations.
Three people were shot in the room next to me at the Alamo Lodge. A prostitute, who later died after the report came out, was shot numerous times for stealing drugs from the shooter, who then shot two other witnesses in the room. One man was shot dead, the other ran away with injuries but survived. The shooter also called back to several hotel rooms to locate other possible witnesses (for extermination). He was never caught. The motel is home to numerous drug dealers and low-grade prostitutes. http://www.ksat.com/news/5416375/detail.htmlAlamo Lodge is an otherwise economical place to stay. Be sure NOT to stay in the rooms that were repeatedly called.

No hot water in 412 on August 15....none. Really????I stay at Hilton properties for their predictable good quality but this location disappointed. I tried the hot water in the sink as well as the shower....none. It was too late and I was too tired to complain. I also found a disposable contact lens on the bed. I don't wear them. The entertainment center drawer fell apart when I opened it.I am very very surprised at these issues. I hope its a one off, but I won't choose this location again.
We have been staying here for work since the summer of last year. Most of the people in the office have been nothing but helpful, but today someone tried to siphon gas from our vehicle for the second time. When it was brought to the attention of the office the lady proceeded to inform me that if I did not feel safe then I needed to move. It saddens me when a company throws customer service to the curb because they have the attitude that there is someone else in line waiting for your apartment.
Check in was smooth. We headed to our room and all looks clean. Our room had double beds and room was clean. Bathroom was big and clean. Plenty of towels and the only thing room dos not have was lotion. Of all the things we forgot to bring. The hotel had been out for a month. Now for breakfast. It was yummy. It's part of our stay and it was very good. We had a good night sleep and now we are getting back on the road. We would love to come back and stay here. We will be back. Thank you.
The rooms/building needed some repair and upkeep. We stayed in a king suite and getting airflow to the first part of the room was a big problem but it was nice having a separate side for the kids. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The rooms/building needed some repair and upkeep.
