I live on the NW side, however, this past weekend, my family and I made the drive to this recently reopened eatery. I can tell you it is worth the drive!!! I had a very pleasant and relaxing eating experience. The sandwich (Tuscan) was made with freshly baked bread, a good portion of meat and …

36. Zito's Deli
I have tried their Serious and Rueben. Serious is good and I will order that again but I do not like the Rueben. I hate the mustard sauce they put in it. The service is kind of slow. Make sure call ahead. Zito sure beats Subway and Quizeno.
It was just ok. I had the lunch special of 2 slices + side salad. Salad and pizza were good, but not great. The crust on pizza was thin but not crunchy...I liked that, but it needed more cheese and sauce. I also took an order of Chicken Picatta to go. It was not what I expected. It was a s…
Ridiculous! It must have been a different restaurant. This place is posh and the food is gourmet quality! A very healthy and creative menu. Food that feels like you're in a garden. Nothing heavy or greasy. The specials are your best bet, they change by the chef's palate and whim. The special cre…
43. Jesse's Deli
Just had this place for the first time today. I can't believe I've driven past this place for three years and never stopped. Now I'm moving away to Michigan and losing such a treasure. I had the philly cheesesteak....O! M! G! it was soooo good. It was like a cloud with steak and cheese and onion…
I've been a regular at Picnic Deli since they first opened in 1985. Nothing compares to their sandwiches. Light years better than Subway, Quizno's and all the rest. The bread is fresh, the seasonings are wonderful and the flavorings are unique. I've been friends with the owners all this time…
53. Sweeties Deli
Sweeties is a great place for a lunch with friends - old home set up as a deli with a tea house feeling. The owners are from New Orleans; their quality food and friendliness make this the perfect place to relax and enjoy a break.
55. H B's
This is a must place to have your lunch and breakfast. The menu items are made fresh and the food is very tasty. The atmosphere very pleasant with quaint tables set in an open dining room. Extremely nice workers and the owners are just wonderful people. I have enjoyed eating at HB's for man…
There are much better mex restaurants in SA. Especially ones that don't charge "extra" for chopped onions and cheese (instead of sauce) on Cheese Enchiladas! Almost as ludicrous as La Gloria (the mex street food one, out by the Dominion) that charges $5 for a small bowl of chips to go with the mediocre salsa.
I ordered the chile relleno dinner and it was delicious. I wanted the mole sauce instead of the enchilada sauce on the enchilada. They changed without a question. The pan dulce was delicious too.
I just enjoy the atmosphere here, they are family oriented and been eating there since I was a child.
Always recommend Mi Tierra's to out of town guests. In my experience the food is always good. They are always busy and therefore service is not very quick however they can not be blamed for being busy, rather it's a testament to their reputation as a restaurant. Once you sit down the service is very acceptable. The atmosphere is festive and gives diners a real feel for the heart of San Antonio's spirit. There may be better samples of mexican food but with it's Riverwalk location, mariachis and ambiance it always impresses.
