Chang's has been my favorite restaurant BY FAR for years, but the company has a serious problem they need to address because the theme is consistent in online reviews: CONSISTENCY!!! It used to be that maybe one in ten visits to a Chang's was somewhat disappointing, but now it's 50/50 at best! To help ensure I don't have to write a bad review (because I love the company!) I asked my server (who was great) to make sure the chef knew I was a nationwide Chang's customer and that my Mongolian Beef was crispy. I'm sure the server did because he was very good otherwise. What did I get? Not only a dish that was less crispy than normal, but one that was not crispy AT ALL and also undercooked!!! P.F. Changs corporate are you listening?? Your customer base is writing bad reviews everywhere not because they don't like you but because they are tired of being disappointed after you've served them food they WANT to return to buy and instead get something that isn't as good as the frozen version at Wal Mart for $7.50 and that ISN'T sarcasm, at this point the frozen spicy chicken or sweet & sour chicken is a somewhat overpriced but tasty consistent deal and going for the REAL THING is a rip off!!!. I never send food back, and of course didn't this time, but I'm done now after eating countless entrees that were not correctly prepared (been to about 14 locations numerous times so I have an idea of what is correct). From now on it's going back and if it's not right again I walk out and write another review stating such until Chang's gets its act together or I give up on them :(----------------------------------------------------Update: I returned twice (so far) to give this location a chance at redemption after serving me nearly raw Mongolian Beef a few days earlier (that's not very crispy!), and the visit went much better. The Sesame Chicken was prepared well, although a couple times at other locations I've had it where the corners are bordering crispy like the Mongolian Beef and out of this world!) and tasted as good as it looked. The server was a young girl who leaves plenty to be desired but did an OK job (I won't be too hard because they have been slammed all holiday week and maybe she is burned out). On my next visit I got the Kung Pao Scallops and asked for them to be well cooked and they came out just fine. The real star of this visit however was a server named Mandy, a young girl who told me she has ample experience in hospitality and it shows, however, her personality is what is important and she was so pleasant and attentive that I wrote an email to Chang's corporate to make sure she is recognized and her management takes good care of her because she knows how to do the job unlike so many of the bozos we see in the world today who should not even think about working in hospitality. I've had better Chang's food, but Mandy pulled the rating right up to a 5.
While Tapei seems to get the larger crowds, Beijing is more reasonably priced and has just as good (if not better in some cases) food offerings. If you want to try something different, ask for their Vietnamese menu (for eat in or take out).

If you want to try a different cuisine.....tired of Mexican, burgers or pizza all the time? Don't want that sluggish feeling ya get after eating so much pasta again?Experiment and try out some Israeli cuisine. Fresh and delicious food like sandwhiches made to the order---with even the vegetables cut/sliced fresh to order. I know this because I have seen it myself. Combinations of flavors and food items that are unique to many people, but that you will really LOVE when you go. Don't miss out on their incredible soups too! You'll want the entire batch of soup----they're that good!As a frequent customer here, I have seen new customers come in, order items they've never tried or tasted ever before, and watch them DEVOUR their plates and state how delicious the food is. Doesn't that say enough?Having coffee that's better than Starbucks doesn't hurt either! Seriously true, folks!Ya know how you can go into some places, ask them questions about their food and it's like they're annoyed with it or they just don't know? I promise you, you will NOT get that type of service here. They're happy to help, happy to explain things to you.So, just do it. Try them out. You'll thank me for the suggestion.
I have to agree the food from Peng's is very good but the men in the kitchen (including Jenny's husband) are not very clean. I worked at Peng's for a while and could not believe some of the things the cooks did back there like smoking while cooking the food, dropping food on the floor and still using it. There were always rat droppings in the storage room and when Jenny did have the exterminator come she never closed the next day although she knew there were gonna be roaches everywhere. There was 1 day I was so embarrased because a table of 3 women walked out without paying because a big roach was on their table while they were eating, plus there were roaches on the blinds and some crawling on the floor and all Jenny said was "Just pick em up with a napkin and throw em away". People always complained about the taste of the iced tea and that is because they do not use a tea machine, instead they put the tea bags in a bucket with hot tap water and let them sit in the freezer.
I orders crab rangoons, sweet and sour delight, small hot and sour soup for delivery. I was expecting rangoons like any other place I've gotten them from, soggy greasy and chunky cream cheese filling, what I got was delicious golden crispy rangoons with an actual creamy filling. The hot and sour soup surprised me the same way, I was expecting typical thick gelatin "soup" with some mushrooms and tofu. What I actually got was the best hot and sour soup I've ever put in my mouth. The sweet and sour delight, consisting of fried shrimp, chicken and pork was also delicious. Usually sweet and sour chicken shrimp or pork I get from other places turns out to be a greasy soggy mess but these were crisp and golden. Other than the shrimp was a bit over cooked and the chicken was a little dry but other than that it was perfect (pork was excellent) I plan on making it my permanent place to get Chinese and Vietnamese food from
My Fiance and I came to the newly opened restaurant around opening time. We were greeted right away and drink order taken we began to explore all the items everything looked fresh and well organized as well as clean. I cant stress that clean part. If someone even had a crumb put out someone would be right out to clean it up. The sushi was ok and all the food out on warmers was good. However the star of the show that people rarely took part of is the Mongolian Grill area making your own lo mein or stir fry and making it how you want. It was delicious and Id return for all but especially that part. They were quick at refills as well as getting the check. The price was a steal for lunch. 18 dollars for the two of us not including tip but well worth that money. Definitely try this place out it was delicious and great service.
Hand Down The Best In Town !!I moved to San Antonio in 1997 and Lung Fung was my absolute all time favorite place to eat. I was a regular at this place. So much so, the owner and staff new my name and would bring my drinks without even having to order. If the buffet did not have my favorite - the owner would ask the cook to make it for me - without me even asking. The food was superb, every-time. Always consistent - the items always tasted wonderful (and always the same - which is usually a problem at some other restaurants) I retired and moved away several years ago - wish I could visit more often - I never miss an opportunity to get my fill here when I visit.
This was our first time trying Sichuan House! Awesome! The staff was attentive, helpful and seemed to genuinely care about their patrons. The food is served family style, but you don't have to share if you choose not to. We chose 7 items, 2 appetizer and 5 entrees. All were amazing! I have to say. The pork belly is the dish to try but even the fried rice was some of the best I have had. The staff checked in with us continually to make sure we had drinks, if we liked everything, they had great suggestions and truly know their menu and all the flavors of their food. I highly recommend trying Sichuan House top restaurant in San Antonio!!!
Very good! I went here for lunch today and my entire group enjoyed their dishes. I had the 1/2 Fried Shrimp Po'Boy and fries. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked and it was VERY filling. The fries are frozen crinkle cut variety and a little soggy so I would probably wouldn't order them again. But everything else was GREAT! The service was good and the food came out quick. I will be back! Oh and the menu changes daily, so what's online is what the have every weekday. But there are several other dishes that change daily that are not on the website.
The food is okay but the delivery service is a joke. The last two times we have waited over 2 hours for our delivery order. That is just insane! They will say "We are on our way" then another hour passes and they are still not there. When you call to cancel the order they say "Its already made and on its way" Yummmm 2 hour old Chinese food?! It's expensive and delivery is awful. Sadly it is the only option on this end of town. Hopefully the new City Base West will bring about new Chinese restaurants!
Just had lunch here. The food was great! Lg portions of good cajun food. Only thing is that the service is not good at all. The waiter was on the phone most of our visit and was not very welcoming when customers entered the restaurant. He was scrambling to find menus and cups with ice for the drinks. They have live music on Friday nights, and I'm curious to see what that would be like...maybe better and more upbeat? I will def eat the food again, but next time I think I will call in a to-go order and pick it up.
