Do your due diligence if considering this place. I had my mom there but I ended up moving her out. The fact that it is a family owned business means that if you have a complaint it ends with the owner. The heater went out in the middle of winter and it took them one whole month to fix it. In the meantime they gave her 2 small space heaters. They had to remove all her clothes from the closet where the heater was installed. For that whole month her clothes were scattered everywhere. Then there was a tenant that was harassing my mom who is 91 and they told her to just stay in her room to avoid the harassment. How is that a solution? As we moved here out that same tenant was cursing and yelling at her. Money is all they know at that place. Bottom line. And excuses. David C.

We absolutely love this place! They are always on top of everything. They also take great care of their residents like it's one of their own.
Our Number Has changed 210-560-0682, please for give me for any inconvenience. I've updated several times but it seems to still show the old number. On another Note, Thank you everyone for your kind words, It's been an honor either working with your Loved ones, and/or getting to know each and everyone of you. I feel very blessed to have been apart of Your Journey. Thanks again.
Awesome attention to clients. I highly recommend. YLH staff came and cared for my grandma in my home. Not only did she attend to my grandma but the staff cared for our family as well. Thanks SO much for being an angel with my loved one.
After looking at over 20 assisted living facilities in the area before picking my father up, Carol Ann's went #1 to my list right off. The facilities are beautiful, clean, and "homey", the owner is awesome, and ALL the nursing staff/and care staff (including Melissa)go above and beyond to make sure their clients and family feel part of the "family" at Carol Ann's. If you are looking for a "family" atmosphere, where they put your family's needs at the top of their list, you will not find a better place then Carol Ann's. I read through a recent post, and I know the situation very well. Unfortunately, the person who wrote the things about Melissa, has never met Melissa in person, so she doesn't know the sweet, loving, caring person she is, nor does she know the care her father gets from her. Lorin just a negative person who because of monitored situations, has not been allowed to speak to her father, after being thoroughly monitored by APS, social workers, the family, and the authorities. She's tried everything, without success, and this is her place to vent, along with other places, that we are finding. The only REAL PROBLEM is Lorin, not the facility. The authorities have been notified, and they are doing everything in their power to stop her, unfortunately, she has been told to stop, and wont. Sooner or later her lies will catch up to her. My suggestion to anyone looking for a place to have their family member call "home" is to check out Carol Ann's for yourself. I cannot say enough good things about them. If you are looking for a warm, loving, caring facility, that feels like a "family" and "home" then Carol Ann's is the place for anyone in your family. I cannot say enough about the staff and the owner, who despite putting up with family members out of control, and things that are being said by one very lonely, sad, negative person, has been nothing but kind and understanding through a very difficult family dynamic. My recomendation always is to look for yourself. If it might not be what everyone is looking for, but definately what I was looking for, for my loved one, and would not change my decision for anything! My parent has come so far in such a short time, and is so happy and content at Carol Ann's!! My last and final remark would be this. Remember, there is always "someone" who has nothing better to do with their time but speak negative about any and everything, and unfortunately with as many "social media" sites out there, you cannot stop someone from writing their opinion down, but you can educate yourself, and make the decision that is best for your family....and I hope you do!! Making this kind of decision is hard enough, but when you have someone doing things like this any chance they get, that should tell you that Carol herself, her staff, and people involved are doing their jobs superbly, not the other way around! Good luck in whatever choice you make for your loved one!
Carol Ann's Home is a great assisted living home!!! As a family member I truly appreciate all the love and attention. Melissa is a wonderful care giver!!
This is a really great organization that cares deeply about its residents. Care is second to none and resident to staff ratios are absolutely fantastic.
Our Dad has stayed in Respite Care (short term assisted living) twice now and we could not be more pleased with his care. His first stay was 3 weeks; his current stay is thus far 2 weeks. Boyd and ALL of his staff are professional, respectful, very kind & caring, and loving too, not just to our Dad, but to our entire family as well. Our Mom has memory issues and each time she visits for the afternoon, she is well taken care of too. Our Dad has balance issues and has fallen several times. In the past 10 months since he got sick, he has fallen about fifty times. The fall protocols Boyd and his staff have in place leave absolutely no doubt that our Dad is responded to in a timely manner with the utmost concern for his wellbeing. Our Dad's overall state of being actually improves during his stays. Boyd and his staff also do an outstanding job of keeping us well informed, and accommodating our requests. We can't thank Boyd and EVERYONE ON STAFF enough for the outstanding service they have provided to our family. We highly recommend Emeritus at Lincoln Heights.
