I would think twice before putting a loved one at this facility. Domingo (Director of nursing) blacklisted a wound care nurse from the Heartis facilities because she has tattoos. I know personally that this nurse is fantastic with her patients, very professional, provides over the top care, and works hard to build trusting relationships. And despite NEVER receiving a patient complaint Domingo felt her tattoos did not line up with the "high end" facade they are trying to portray for their cash paying residents. I personally find that offensive, bigoted, and discriminatory! Who cares about tattoos if she is great with patients! If Domingo is representative of Heartis values, I would look for an assisted living facility who is not judgmental and instead spends their time focusing on their residents and their needs.

I really wanted this to work, but I ended up paying $100 for 4 hours of training caregivers for zero help. (the four hours of training, they stood around watching as we provided the actual care). On the day The agency was supposed to start they sent someone who had never been to The home and did not know how to care for my brother. The agency failed to communicate that they were changing caregivers, that they were going to be late. They sent untrained personnel to the house and expected us to wait for an supervisor to come train the new provider. The supervisor never showed up. Meanwhile, my disabled brother is stuck in bed waiting to start his day. Zero communication. Zero concern for clients time.
My daily prayer for my mom is that she is happy, feels loved, safe and secure and has friends. I have found that she has all of these things at Bader House. The staff is very caring and knows my “new mom” on a personal level. My mom has quality of life now because she is happy almost all of the time and loves the staff, the home-like atmosphere with home-cooked meals and the friends who live with her. Because of the people that work at Bader House, I am able to be the daughter again. It is hard to give someone else the control of a loved one’s complete care. With the confidence I have in the staff at Bader House I am able to turn my mom’s care over to them. I know that she is in the best hands possible, getting better care than what I could give her.The support of the staff at Bader House is important to my husband and me as well. We are a team that walks together with my mom through her dementia journey. Pamela C.
any questions about this poor poor horrible place to be trapped living in just come on by and stop by lot 179 I will personally fill you in and give you all details on the fraudulents practices taking place here
One of the absolute worse places you could ever live in San Antonio. The location of the small community is near a high crime area and right next to the crime ridden Goldfield apartments, people have been shot and killed there. There are drug dealers everywhere. The management does nothing about the conditions of the streets. Constantly threatens to mow your lawn and charge you $40 bucks to do so on your rent if you don't do it within their unreasonable timelines. All of the money goes to the management to build their club house that is not allowed to be used by the community except for family and friends of the management. There is special treatment given to the family and friends of the management, concrete patios, given entire lots without paying for them, extra storage sheds and they never have to pay if they let their lawns over grow. Yet everyone else is cracked down on, you got a broken window? They up the rent. Your lawn overgrew? Up the rent. Broken shingles? Up the rent. Don't live in this little crap hole.Oh, and the two five star reviews, they are shills for the management, don't listen to them. You WILL regret moving here. I know my family regretted it just two years after moving in back in 2002. Thank the Lord that we moved out in 2013.
This is a beautiful facility! I visit the building often and the people who live there are very happy! The staff is very kind, attentive and helpful to needs of everyone. I will definitely recommend to anyone who is seeking assistance/place to live for a loved one
If you are thinking about sending your loved one to this place. Think again and then look elsewhere. This place is managed by the same people that got it shut down when it was called the Willows. Management does not care about their employees, they just want a body. The staff are overworked and underpaid. It is on its way to be shut down again with all the investigations opened by Protective Services. They will probably just reopen it with another new name. Hope this helps anyone thinking about working for this place or letting their family stay at the homes.
