After hours in Prompt Care Angels Camp, American Legion Ambulance Co came to get me and my orders said to take me to Adventist Health Sonora ER. I was 69 years old. They REFUSED and would not leave parking lot until I agreed to go to Mark Twain. I couldn't breath. Oxygen level at 80%. So after tears, begging and hard to breath I signed paperwork Under Duress. She was putting IV in my hand after I told her NO, that it never works and is too painful. She tried anyway as I cried and screamed with her holding my hand tight. It Didn't work as I had told her. I asked for my purse to call my daughter and was refused the first time. Second time I asked she gave it to me. My daughter had a friend go to the parking lot of Rapid Care and tell them to take me to Sonora. They told her I CHANGED MY MIND and wanted to go to Mark Twain. When we finally left and went to Mark Twain they asked WHY I was brought there when Paperwork said Sonora. They AGAIN lied and said I REQUESTED Mark Twain. I told the ER Nurse "NO I DID NOT". She stated "That is not OK"! Because I had all medical tests at Prompt Care, affiliated with Sonora Hospital, not Mark Twain, they knew Nothing about the past hours. They ran all tests again, causing me to be double billed. When first in Ambulance they said everything to me to get me to change my mind: You don't want to go to Sonora, riding backwards it will be miserable. You don't need to go to Sonora because your daughter is waiting there for you, she should come to you. There are better doctors at Mark Twain. On and On. But the worst was my difficulty breathing, scared something worse could happen, and them not leaving until I agreed to go to Mark Twain. Because she insisted on sticking needles in my hand after I said NO, my hand was swollen and bruised for nothing.
