Why does no one talk about Eborn Books when they talk about SLC? I am from Boise and we have some great bookstores. In fact sometime in the near future we may be referred to as A City of the Book (for many reasons). But if Eborn Books doesn't begin to qualify SLC as a City of the Book then its only because people don't know about Eborn. Is it their marketing department? I am now working near SLC and am surprised that Eborn is not a household name. What a huge and magnificent bookstore. They are like the Strand of SLC. They need to make shirts and sell them. I can wear ten of them. They need to be in more people's vocabularies. Eborn books is the place! Come on people!
Made the mistake of stopping by with my wife on "Girl's Night." (We didn't know until we saw the sign on the door.) A quick glance through the window, and I could not discern any kind of event; people (women) just happened to be perusing printed works and I hoped to do the same. My mistake. I was called an "interloper" and received a few hairy eyeballs. Perhaps I should have taken the situation with a bit more humor, but I am new to the area and the welcome from the bookstore was as cold as the winter weather.
