A customer and I had went to AMC Building Supply to pick out a Quartz prefab. AMC agreed to sell the it for a certain price to the customer and I. . We told them we would be back after the cabinets were built and get the Prefab. Quartz they said Ok, No Problem. After cabinets were built and installed went back to buy the same exact Quartz from the same order AMC originally bought it from & wanted to charge me & the customer 30% more than they originally agreed to sell it for. I would understand the price increase if it was a new shipment from them & they had to pay more the new batch that came in. That can happen and does, But this was the same batch. The told us you should have just bought it at that moment. They have now honor in what they tell people. You can't change pricing after you agree to a set price. I will never do business with this company . Luckily the home owner understood and wasn't in a situation that caused to much inconvenience for them.
I accepted a quote from Ryan at Granite-4-less (which was the cheapest of 5 companies) on behalf of my Sister. I am an Architect and designed a kitchen remodel for her. The signed quote indicated to use 2CM granite with 3/4" marine-grade plywood substrate and a 3/4" radius bullnose. I also sent Ryan section details of the countertop design so there was no confusion whatsoever. After install, my Sister noted there was no plywood substrate (this was designed to support the granite slab over the 12" deep bar overhang and make a thicker 3/4"R or 1-1/2" overall bullnose edge). Ryan completely ignored the signed quote & details, used 3CM granite without plywood and a small 1/2"R with flat bottom edge bullnose. When questioned why, he responded by saying my Sister requested it that way (she did not). After multiple email communications trying to get a compromised fix, he ignored me. Unless you are okay with a Contractor ignoring you and installing what he wants, DO NOT USE GRANITE-4-LESS. I have multiple emails to-from Ryan, signed quote, details, etc. to back up this review.
