WORST PLACE EVER. I am not even going to get into my story with this place because I am so livid if I explain it, it will be riddled with F words and profanity. Carolyn was my counselor and made me feel bad about myself (cool counselors are supposed to help you). I was weary of counseling anyways and this place made it an awful experience. All of the staff is rude and impolite especially the "office manager" Lauren. I will never go back and tell everyone I know not to go to that place. Everyone there was very disrespectful, they deserve 0 stars. Again, WORST PLACE OF MY LIFE.

This place is so rude! I contacted them the morning of 5/19/16 to make a new patient appointment. Sundance Behavioral was listed on my insurance as being a provider (Molina). The first lady who answered the phone says "yea, we don't take that" . I follow up with "You're listed on Molina's website as being a provider" She says "yea, hold on".... I waited on the phone for approximately 10 minutes just to have another woman (sounds older, definitely more rude) answer and say "yes, sundance can I help you" I then explained I was waiting for the other lady to come back to I can make a new patient appointment. I told her I had Molina and she went off on me about how they have NEVER been accredited with Molina and she doesn't know what I am calling them being a Molina member. She then says "sorry" and I hear a click. She hung up on me after going off on me about Molina. Perhaps I wanted to continue on paying out of pocket? She will never know because she HUNG UP ON ME.RUDE
Valley Mental Health in my experience treats their clients horribly. In my experience the staff is rude and acts as if it is a bother to do their jobs. The staff is not sensitive to the issues their business is supposed to be helping people with. One time I was given an appointment slip with the wrong date on it so I showed up at the wrong time. It was the receptionists fault that she gave me the wrong information. I was punished and had to sit in the waiting room for 5 hours in order to reschedule my appointment. they sad I should be more responsible. I felt like a child being given a time out. I had to waste my whole day waiting to make an appointment when I did show up at the time I was given. Also I had been in therapy for almost a full year and my therapist was more concerned about my finances then my mental health. I was given some assistance and she was offended that I was receiving assistance and tried to have me kicked off the program that had actually taken me off the streets. She also lied to me on several occasions. I think valley mental health is a farce. I think people in this type of industry should be patient and kind and understanding and want to help people. I don't find that with this agency at all. I wish they did not have a monopoly in this state.
I am a mental health counselor here in Salt Lake City. Shaun Demers is THE #1 person I recommend. He listens very well and is thorough. He does not push medications but instead sees them as one of many options. He is great at following up and very responsive. I give Demers Mental Health five stars for only one reason - they've earned them. ~Frank Clayton, LPC
