I've had to say this on several different sites because there is a concerted effort by a small group of people to 'get back at' one of the owners of Free Wheeler Pizza by posting venomous reviews. I cannot, without any doubt, say that any negative review is one of theirs, but have a strong suspicion because the tone of these are all similar, and they harp on the same issues. One might beleive this is because they are valid statements, but because of other information I have and my being at Free Wheeler every couple of weeks, I know that some of these claims are ridiculous. Please do not validate their vindictiveness by automatically believing these reviews. I truly hope you simply visit Free Wheeler, without even buying anything, to see for yourself that these claims are false. And if they are not false, and I'm the one trying to manipulate people, then you will see this immediately and can walk out without losing one red cent. I also want to state up front that I do have a personal relationship with Free Wheeler Pizza, but that I have no financial stake in the business and have not been paid to write this. All I want to do with this review is warn people that there is an effort out there to ruin the good name of Free Wheeler Pizza.
I always order the BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad. It never disappoints and is so refreshing on these wicked hot summer days. My SIL got the Waldorf and it looked fantastic--I *MAY* branch out next time. (No promises.) This time we also ordered the fried mac and cheese for an appetizer. It was mediocre ...but don't get me wrong, I still finished it! Because HELLO, It's friend mac and cheese. I was sorely disappointed to learn that they only serve Diet Pepsi and not Diet Coke. FAIL. I had to get 2 limes to even survive. Our server was wonderful. We never saw the bottom of our glasses and our food came out perfectly and quickly. My SIL taught me a new trick too that I have to share: Order the wheat pita bread (it is SOOOO good!) with sides of honey and butter. Mix them together to make honey butter. You will NOT be disappointed.
I'm from New Jersey and am a pizza conisuer. No offense, but it has been a challenge to find good pizza in the Salt Lake Area. Whenever I am near Manhattan, I take a trip into Lombardi's, which is the original pizza establishment in New York. Settebello is the closest I've had to Lombardi's. Authentic Italian pies, that are simply delicious. Make sure to save room for the deserts. I had a lemon ice (forget the actual name) that was wonderful. If you love pizza, definately go visit.
It is kind of unknown place off of 2200 West by the SLC airport. Across from the Radisson Hotel. Light thin crust, best sauce, and a variety of toppings. They cook it in a real stone pizza oven. They have great salads with house vinaigrette salad dressings. They have a flat bread with Parmesan and garlic basted with the best marinara sauce I've ever had. Usually isn't over busy. Has TV's to watch games and a fireplace. If you like thin crust pizza, this is the one to try.
I love the porcupine..great ambiance.. great food... and a great selection of beers on tap. Their brunch on saturday and sunday is always a favorite. Everything is moderately priced and if your not satisfied they will fix it! Tuesdays are a good day to go in because it is $2 beer all day and if you make it there at 4 to 6 on monday thru friday...their apps are half off! Great place to go after you come down from the slopes! Definantly will go back!
I tried the pizza here once and never returned. Not that the pizza was awful, but the guy who was serving it (I had the impression he was the owner but I could be wrong) had a need to argue with me is a discussion of different local new york style pizzerias. He told me that I obviously had poor taste in pizza and that I did not know what I was talking about. He was demeaning, rude and left a BAD taste in my mouth.........
As MaxSartin as said: Beware Vindictive Reviews. As of today, Dec 6th, 2011 an ex employee sent a facebook message to the owner of Free Wheeler Pizza stating: "More to follow to review sites and FWP favorite sites near you." I did a "Print Screen" of the message and it will be made available on request. It is also being reported to YP
I just moved to the area and did not know of any pizza places. I found Nick n willys on yellowpages.com and thought I would give them a try since they were close to my house. Their service was great, I loved that they have a liv n lite menu and they had many different sides and salads to choose from which were fresh. I really enjoyed Nick n willy's pizza.
Alex Garcia went above and beyond to help me. My brother was stranded at the greyhound for 1 1/2 days and he made it possible for me to order and pay for pizza from california for all 16 people that were stranded there with him on the eve of xmas eve.. Thank you so much. You are amazing for making that possible. God bless you!
We went with our kids to CPK last night and it was a perfect restaraunt experience. We were seated within ten minutes. Drinks brought immediately. Wonderful waitress. Food was brought in a very timely manner so no whiney hungry kids! Great atmosphere. I couldn't say one thing negatitve about our experience there!
