I had my drive way repaved close to winter but insisted it wasn't to late in the season. I had him do the work, he was replacing sidewalk also so the city got involved. And thank goodness or i have no doubt my driveway would fall apart in a couple years. My initial bid was about $600 less but nickle and dime a bunch of additive and extras because of the weather, not a problem if it was up front about the extra cost. put handing me a bill from your truck in the middle of the street saying you need more money is horrible. He also ended up charging me for a 4x4 piece that he said wasn't going to cost extra. In the end i'm sure it's a study piece of concrete but I have tried calling several times because there is a dip in the middle and water gathers there when he promised it would drain correctly without a drain system put in. In the end my driveway cost more then the next bid and they were going to put in a drench drain system and do it correctly. Don't trust what this guy says, and his opinion is not right regardless of his nice trusting demeanor. Cross checking what he saying with half a dozen other concrete companies he has come up full of crap. Very frustrated i spend that much money when i know for a fact i could of got a better driveway with proper draining for less money in the end.
Jeremiah Rex Smith and his crew has done several jobs for me at home: Two concrete jobs, which were done with care, using great technique, on time, and the envy of the neighborhood. We discussed details ahead of time, answered every question, before and during the work. I used his company because he stressed craftsmanship and had a crew that had been working with him for a long time. All were very responsible. He always listened to what I needed to be done.Jeremiah also acted as general contractor for a deck. He made the project flow smoothly and matched the job to some excellent sub contractors. I will be using him again in the future.
I am the owner of Jeremiah Rex Smith Construction and wanted to reply to the review from Soror V. and set the record straight. I received the following letter from the owner of this job."Jeremiah did commendable work in my back yard. He is a fine, gentle, competent man whose work is flawless. But the renter at this property took a dislike to Jeremiah so decided to post a derogatory review on him. This is my desire to set the situation right. I would not hesitate to hire him again. I recommend him to anyone wanting an excellent job... You will be glad you did! –D. Petersen. September 2015."This home owner actually hired me back to do a second job for her at her home one month later.
I recently worked with Jeremiah Rex and thought he did a great job.He started on time and finished before expected with a product I can be proud of. Thanks for a job well done.
Mr. Smith presents himself as a real nice guy, but eventually becomes too opinionated & over-bearing - much like a used car salesman! After showing him what was wanted & what to stay away from, he did as he damned-well pleased, killed my lawn & rose bush, piled dirt on my water-feature/rock garden, bent the decorative fencing & prepared to pour concrete right where HE wanted it - I DIDN'T! I asked his workers to stop, but they refused, saying they would only take orders from him! When did the CUSTOMER stop being right??? Apparently, as soon as you hire Jeremiah Rex Smith for the job! My 85 yr. old mom, who's been part of this project, is so easily swayed back & forth by smooth-talkers such as this that she doesn't even remember the original plan & just bends over & takes it! PLEASE BEWARE of contractors, landscapers, etc. because they are very good at taking advantage of seniors & their sometimes muddled thinking. I'm SUPPOSED to be here to keep that from happening, but it rarely works! And this guy wants to do what HE wants to do & the devil take the hindmost! If you want YOUR job done YOUR way, this is NOT the company for you! one star is too many!
